Well that's our marketing right there, I am shocked Karlsson and Ryan aren't posted everywhere in the city. That Ryan skit makes me wonder how many people who know he is in the city. Karlsson is the most marketable player on the team and I think Ryan could be as well, they should be milking that for all it's worth.

As do most internet people nowadays

I am excited for the changes at the CTC
Excited about Chek Point or about Frank Finnegan's being gone?  Looks a bit like a highschool caf, tbh.

Looks good. They need to stop talking about guys like Frank Finnegan who have never played for this franchise
looks sterile.

For sure. They used that old fool in their original pitch for the franchise he served his purpose so now Diddle him. I'd like to see his memory disappear as well as any memory of the original Senators. Maybe burn any memorabilia from that era and piss on the ashes?

It's true though. Can we not retire #8? What the heck?

They should totally get Scarlett Johanssen to do a bit with Bobby Ryan.

I'm shocked that there's no current plans to extend the light rail to the CTC:
http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/ottawa/lrt-from-bayshore-to-orleans-part-of-city-s-transit-plan-1.1930671

Looks like Prags is already on judging by the comments section:l:

Here's an interesting tidbit from the $hitizen:

There still won’t be Transitway service to the Canadian Tire Centre, with the western end of the busway stopping at about Terry Fox Drive, a couple of kilometres short, but the change will improve transit service to the Kanata Centrum box-store mall.

Ottawa priorities: Box stores and bike paths.

Looks like the area around Canadian Tire Centre is growing at a significant rate with retail and some 1700 homes, according to this article.

http://www.ottawacitizen.com/business/Bass+Shops+coming+Ottawa+2015/9160592/story.html

Businesses and real estate developers see it as a destination but City Hall doesn't. Yet they have no problem cashing in on the increased tax revenue and building permits indirectly generated by the CTC.

Apparently all the increased tax revenue and building permits don't cover the infrastructure outlay (streets, sewage, etc.) This is how Ottawa always explains their need to continue raising residential taxes (never mind that the income grows 7% or more each year simply because of the higher assessments, then they raise the mill rate anyway). What the City has failed to explain is exactly what happens when the roads and sewers are done, and the residential taxes from the new houses continue to be collected every year -- surely, at some point, you finish paying off the initial costs and the maintenance costs are much less than the taxes collected. I guess that's where salary raises come into play.

They usually don't upgrade roads and sewers when they increase population density in certain areas. They just overload them and hope for the best. They deal with the floods if and when they happen.

There's a sizeable pasture in front of RCR and I noticed City workers putting up a snow fence there today. Must mean that the City owns that land and might be a reason for propping up RCR?
