I'm sure most people are sick of this Dung, but it's still our team .....

Ian Mendes ‏@ian_mendes
Eugene Melnyk tells us @TSN1200 the Sens have lost $110 million since he took over ownership in 2003.
Back in August it was $94M ... hmmm

James Gordon ‏@SensReporter
Sens gonna make more changes to rink, more "terraces" where people can watch hockey and eat at same time. Too many suites, Melnyk says
.

But if we're broke how do we afford that? Smile

Also said they're working with the city to mend fences, quite the turnaround after the casino thing fell through.

Ian Mendes ‏@ian_mendes
Melynk also told us that he will add salary if the team is in contention close to the deadline. "If I need to add a piece, I will."
Vanek? Hemsky?

$94M was the number that Bagnall came up with. Trust me, neither $94, nor $110 is the real number.

Excited about Chek Point or about Frank Finnegan's being gone?  Looks a bit like a highschool caf, tbh.

Looks good. They need to stop talking about guys like Frank Finnegan who have never played for this franchise

For sure. They used that old fool in their original pitch for the franchise he served his purpose so now Diddle him. I'd like to see his memory disappear as well as any memory of the original Senators. Maybe burn any memorabilia from that era and piss on the ashes?

Seriously, the Sens have been around long enough to create somewhat of their own legacy. We don't need to hear crap about things from 100 years ago no one really knows or cares about.

Good on the Sens for making this change, catch up with the times. Wish they would take the #8 down from the rafters too because the only number that should be up there at this point (or soon) is Alfie's. Wish someone could wear that damn number like Cam Neely did.

Agreed NEELer. See you at the bonfire. Bring some matches and a full bladder. Next stop... HHOF. Lots of old crap in there. Or will it be the War Museum first?

What's wrong with paying tribute to the original Senators? That team was one of the founding teams of the NHL and if history played out differently we might not have lost the team for decades.

I've lived in this city since '84 and I never know Ottawa had an NHL team until talk started about bringing the team back.

I get paying tribute to the original team... the entire history of the Sens being built around people when no one really knows who they are is a little much.

Again, not sure why the #8 is retired. There are walls to paint that stuff on all throughout CTC.

.
Well that's our marketing right there, I am shocked Karlsson and Ryan aren't posted everywhere in the city. That Ryan skit makes me wonder how many people who know he is in the city. Karlsson is the most marketable player on the team and I think Ryan could be as well, they should be milking that for all it's worth.

Are the Bobby Butler buses still around? Laughing3
