Puempel over Ceci. i realize he's got to prove he can play pro but it's because where his ceiling is that i believe he's slated so high.

The fact we gave up on Noesen (or rather gave him away) automatically makes Puempel more valuable to the team.  I would have said Stone before but Puempel has impressed the sens where they are talking about him more (let's not forget they traded to get him)

#4 for me has to be Ceci. Actually it should be 1) Lazar 2) Puemps 3) Ceci, but somebody made Pageau a prospect again Sarcasm

TBH, I'm not sure how I'd rank the prospects. I've been voting, but I'm never sure about my vote. IMO, Pageau (if we still consider him a prospect) is higher because he's ready, but Puempel, Ceci, Lazar, Prince, Stone, and Hoffman are all very high on the list. I don't know enough about any of them (the group has combined for 8 games of NHL experience) to rate them accurately. I have those 6 (I'm eliminating Pageau) as the top prospects, but they're all pretty much the same in my books right now. All have undeniable talent; no one knows how that'll transfer to the NHL. I think they'll all eventually be performers on the team, but I have no idea in what capacity they'll perform.

My two cents.

I'm not sure why, but I'm not at all sold on Puempel. This year, I want to be proven wrong when he scores a bunch in the A.

I've basically been ranking them based on the importance level to the team. i ranked Lehner as number 1 prospect couple years back and I think most would tend to agree he was the most important prospect at the time.

I think with Michalek going into UFA, and questions on long term future of Ryan/Spezza, our need is offense from the wings. But others will say we need a right handed dman, and that's fair too I guess. So go by position, and then who has more upside.

I don't understand any of you. I've voted Ceci in all three polls. I already said that I treated Pageau as a graduate. As for Lazar, I get it that we traded Noesen because we got Lazar, but I don't think any one expected Noesen -- this year -- to do anything more than get some games as a callup. I would expect even less from Lazar. He's got another year in Junior before he gets anything more than some pre-season games, perhaps. Meanwhile I expect Ceci to get some games this year and make a serious push for full time next season.

This is not a poll about NHL readiness.

I voted first for Pageau - because, you can't graduate a guy who played 9 regular season games, then 10 playoff games. He's still 100% a prospect - and for all we know, he could come out flat next season and be sent back to the AHL.

As for Ceci, I have him next, but to me Prince has an enormous upside and I think this is a kid who can bang on the door to the NHL and perhaps get a couple of long call ups next season.

I voted Lazar 2nd, but really, he could have gone first.  Having the Edmonton play by play guy saying he's one of the best players he's seen in that uniform is a pretty big compliment.  Having the GM of the Oil Kings, Bob Green, saying he's the best player he's ever had, goes a long, long way as well:

http://blogs.edmontonjournal.com/2013/06/30/edmonton-oil-kings-forward-curtis-lazar-goes-to-ottawa-senators/

Lazar is the real deal.  He has character, he hits, he drives the net, he's a leader and he scores.  He probably should have been my number one, but I love Pageau's hands and hockey sense.

Sorry, I've got too many things in my life to get excited about a player I won't see for another 2-3 years. Look what happened to Noesen. Gone, just like that.

And it's not just NHL readiness but also team need. We desperately need that RHS D-man and Ceci not only does that, but he's very gifted offensively. And we all know that defense can be taught moreso than offense.
