2013 Ottawa Senators Top Prospect #5

He should be pushing for a spot this year but I think he'll fall victim to organizational depth. IMO Puempel and Lazar have already surpassed him. I'd look to trade plays like him and Da Costa who can provide bottom six talent. Unfortunately Ottawa is already loaded with that and I can't see either of them being firm top-six players.

Lazar is still in Junior until you see him playing up here (he can't even go to Bingo). Puemple has had a grand total of 2 pro games. You *may* be right in the near term, but I just don't understand how anyone can make these kinds of assessments before these kids have done anything other than put on a jersey, cap and a smile.

I agree, but I also see the point in a guy like Lazar pretty much surpassing Stone already. Stone can do a lot of good things for himself this year, he can light it up in Bingo, he can get a call up and be effective, but in the end, he doesn't have the skating, nor the grit, nor the leadership that Lazar appears to have.
