you can say it... Alfie Cussed up.  Fact is he doesn't believe in the Sens organization right now so screw him, hope Neil puts him through the glass on "his way to the cup".  Hopefully we play Detroit in the playoffs and break his frigging heart.  Humble him hard.

A little harsh, but can hardly blame you. It'll be interesting to see how the team reacts. Like I tweeted, this may be the time where the team finally grows up. Their "dad" just showed exactly what he thinks of them -- "Probably not".

One of those people that don't have money is a part-owner in the Coyotes.

I've been saying this whole team the team needed to move on from Alfie if they want to become a Cup team. Not because he isn't good, they just need their own identity. This is a blessing in disguise.

Is Alfredsson realyl gonna be proud of winning a Cup (they won't, but bear with me) as a, what, 4-5th most important player? Not a fan of guys taking the easy route coming for a Dung team. This is even worse

Little harsh? I don't think so at all, if you can find something I said in there that wasn't true or accurate I will take what I said back. Hope Karlsson is the one that decks him to be honest.

Agree with all of this but I still think he could have won a cup here in Ottawa with the right pieces. Fact is like you said this is a blessing because you don't have to hear "win it for Alfie". Now it's "f*ck Alfie, lets win it".

Also, I'll say this I have lost some respect for Alfie... maybe respect I shouldn't have had for him before. He was on a platform to himself and perhaps that was a problem in Ottawa all along despite everything else he has done for the Sens and the city. He's not a Sen anymore so he doesn't matter and until his # is hanging from CTC then I hope he does nothing but lose.

Hoping that "Neil puts him through the glass" is a little harsh. Please don't argue that one, you'll sound silly.

I hope Neil puts anyone through the glass that he plays against, why is Alfie different now?

OK, you're arguing. Silly. Saying I hope he stands him up and makes him feel the hit, no problem, but putting a 40-year-old through the glass? The idea of a hockey hit is to separate the payer from the puck, not from his central nervous system.

That's hockey, I'll do anything not to see the guy win a cup for the simple fact he didn't believe in "his" team.

Here's what's next:

Ryan - Spezza - Michalek
Greening - Turris - McArthur
Conacher - Zibanejad - Neil
Pageau - Smith - Condra

Sexy enough.

With the current lineup more like:

Ryan - Spezza - Michalek
MacArthur - Turris - Zibanejad
Greening - Pageau - Conacher
The Kassassin - Smith - Neil

Hopefully Condra is re-signed.

I think I like that a lot better. 4th is less dangerous, but I love that top nine.

Gotta do it like this IMO:

Ryan - Spezza - Michalek
Zibanejad/Pageau - Turris - MacArthur
Greening - Zibanejad/Pageau - Conacher
Condra - Smith - Neil

Not sure that works on 2nd look, a lot of guys might be playing their off-wings.

The way I feel, the more I think about it, is that he's bailing on us and has somehow lost faith in our ability to win. That's the slap in the face to me that hurts the most. Signing with a 'contender' doesn't really hold water for me either to be honest, I feel that if we can make the playoffs, we can win - and he of all people should feel and know the same.

Just keep wondering how he could turn his back on everything he's accomplished here and accomplished throughout his career without fighting a little harder. Maybe personally calling Murray and saying that he wants this amount of $$ and that he'll put him in charge of getting it - and I would have given them a good week to do it, but instead he looks like a quitter right now - and I feel, as a fan, like I've been slighted by the guy I've learned to trust and believe in.

I feel very, very cheated by Alfie today.

But then, I'm very excited at the direction of this team, even moreso now that we have a filthy sniper again.

Which makes his move even more puzzling. Imagine this line up

Michalek - Spezza - Ryan
Zbad - Turris - Alfie
Greening - Pageau - MacArthur
Kassian - Smith - Neil

Karlsson - Methot
Cowen - Boyle?
Gryba - Phillips

Anderson
Lehner

Isn't that better than Detroit?

He's seen some pretty good lineups in Ottawa fail to win the Cup.

I think after 18 years he just decided it's not going to happen here, especially if the team is on an "internal budget". Teams with budgets don't win Cups in his eyes I think.

Take Alfie out and it's still better than Detroits.
