There's a reason why everyone is getting waived or bought out right now and fact of the matter is the Sens are the team that are in the best shape in the NHL right now in terms of being able to offer a low value contract to guys that might like to win now or fit into an organization long term.

Blum and Russel will get at best 2 year deals around the 1.25-1.50 mil range. These are guys that have a lot to prove before getting any kind of long term security or cash. Ottawa can take a chance on one or both these guys if the situation calls for it... say they decide to trade Wiercioch in part of a package and replace him with Russel.

Gerbe is awful.
