Did you not watch the playoffs and the last 2 seasons?  Iginla is done as an NHL start and worth no where near what he is going to get.

And while you're at it, the Flames suck Donkey. Why bother using them as an example. This is a guy who keeps himself in great shape, I think he'd be good here, but we all know he's going somewhere like Dallas or whatever.

Agreed. A full season with a team that goes to the playoffs is way different than trying to fit in as a deadline add.

Meh. Still very similar teams IMO. Ottawa with comparable depth, comparable goalie, comparable blue line. They're probably gonna add another piece of two as well.

We should have much better Zibanejad, Silfverberg, Conacher not to mention healthier Spezza, Karlsson, Cowen etc.

I think he will. Many people have left their original team to chase a Cup and few have gotten it.

Oh, I pretty much know he will, it's a matter of time. Imagine leading a franchise for 17 years and then one day getting in a snit and signing in the ugliest city in the world - on a team that has little to no chance at winning?
