If it goes that far, the Stanley Cup Final would likely start on Sat. June 15th and end up around the 27th.
Love the back to back SCF, Entry Draft and then Free Agency. BRING ON THE MADNESS!!!!
Wish it could be like this all year round...

I don't have a problem per say. I think it's stupid and irrational to cut it so close to the draft. The sheer risk of going past June 30th should have been enough to hurry up the rounds. What you got now is really ridiculous scheduling. Explain the logic in starting both series on the same day or the fact PIT/BOS will have been off for 8 days before they play each other, and then you're forced to mix in back to back games.
Basically I'm opposed to back to back games for any series in the playoffs. Nothing to do with hockey going on too long, its merely unbalanced scheduling and instead of giving yourself some buffer between the draft, you're cutting it really close now. Looks like they'll save themselves but still, they could have done a much better job with the scheduling.
I think they nailed the scheduling for the coming round. No nights without hockey, and a doubleheader on Saturday to kick it off. How is that not awesome?
Also, if the Finals wrap up right before the draft, then, as I mentioned before, there's no downtime for hockey-related happenings!
Explain to me why we need a buffer between the finals and the draft.

Spot the errors. I did and I let him know...he has been tweeting since and hasn't fixed his mistake. Shouldn't we expect better from a guy doing this as a professional in our city?

Ok well I did already tell you that they need a general buffer (why does anybody ever need a buffer?) around the draft date since scheduling can be tricky for the finals, but I'll bite.
Many teams conduct interviews 1 or 2 days before the draft in the draft city with prospects. You're possibly taking this time away from 2 GMs involved in the SCF. Whether it's significant or not isn't the question, and I get the scouting staff can pick up the slack, but the priniciple is that you are affecting a team's process. Anyways that's the smallest reason I can think of for a buffer.
Bigger reasons? For the nhl this is a major fail. They get minimal time to promote the draft when they’re smack in the middle of the cup finals. The cup victory itself is short-lived since 2 days later, everyone is preparing for the draft. Look at how NBA and NFL do their drafts. That’s the model NHL also wants to follow now, making it a 1 day draft only. It’s an exhausting race to the finish line this time for the NHL and they’re better served leaving some gap in between the cup finals and the draft. I'm not speaking from a fan's perspective, I'm talking about just terrible planning on the part of the NHL. There's a reason there is always a gap between draft and SCF/NBA finals. My point is they could have still made up some of that gap, yet the NHL didn't.
Now draft and free agency day, I don’t give a damn about that. I love those two being so close to each other.

Savard?
EDIT: had to look it up. Ray Emery. He can be forgiven for that one. But Savard???

It wasn't last night at 10pm when I was watching basketball with my eyes half-shut.
