Perhaps but it wasn't Muckler trying to take a risk to make the team better. It was a salary dump. Using Muckler's trades as a reference point for why you don't make trades is useless.

Takings risks and going for it.. reminds me of what Muckler did.. which was bad trades after bad trades giving up the Sens future to do that.

Besides a bonafide top winger... they also need a good defenseman to fit in the top 4...

To get to the Cup final.. you have to first get out of the new division against Bos, Det and yes Toronto (who had the Sens # this season).

Then past Pitts.. which maybe a reduced roster next year may be a little easier than this season...

Oh, and a healthy team.. meaning Karlsson, Spezza & Michalek are completely healthy for the year...

And Anderson continues his stellar play.

I think you need to realize that if we don't trade any of our prospects there won't be enough space on the roster to even give them playing time
