It won't be worse than anything else we've put out there lately. We needed to shuffle things up from top to bottom. I think Greening is well-suited to play with The Alfie...it's just tough to know what to expect from Smith.
Smith has been largely fine this year. Good defensively and our best faceoff guy with Spezza out.
He just hasn't produced but I bet if this was an 82-game season he'd hit closer to what he did last year.
Nothing that a kid out of Bingo could have done just as well if not better. He wins faceoffs and occasionally hits when he feels like it - otherwise I'm very, very disappointed in his year this year. Give him the benefit of the doubt I guess, technically a sophomore year and the first year after a new contract, but man...not great at all.
Whenever he and Neil step on the ice lately, I just wait until their shifts end so someone can come on who resembles something offensively.
I think I'd rather have Pageau than Smith at this exact moment if I was to pick one of the two.
