It's a great trade, we could use a guy with Conacher's skill, persistence and drive. Kind of missed with Foligno gone. I hope he is a Brendan Gallagher type and does for us what he did for the Habs.

Some guy on HFB says we had an offer of Yandle for Zib and Bishop. I would not have done that, and glad Murray didn't either (if true).

Ha. Interesting rumour if there's any truth to it, but it's irrelevant now.

Yikes, that's serious business. Yandle is amazing, but now Zib has come into his own and will rapidly progress I would imagine. This is a case of too late for Phoenix I would imagine. Had they pitched that to us in the off-season, we may have said yes.

Isn't Yandle a lefty? Unless you're parting with a LHS it doesn't make a world of sense. And forget about parting with zib.

Yandle is overrated, he racks up points playing easy minutes against the opponent's bottom lines. We already have that in Wiercioch and he is a rookie who will only get better. The only Phoenix d-man who gets easier minutes is Rundblad

Zib was a question mark in the offseason I wonder if they did pitch it. Now that Zib has shown what he has capable of in the NHL I can imagine interest has increased.

I'm not a Yandle fan either. Cost of Zibanejad, no thanks, not now anyways. Maybe earlier but he's coming around and contributing on a more consistent basis.

Yep it would take a lot more than that for us to part with Zibanejad now.

Guy is showing he can fit in on an NHL roster and contribute. He's obviously only going to get better as well so may as well see where he tops out at. Short of a big time player, like BIG TIME, you don't move him.

It will be interesting to see what he does without this kind of grind next year.

Once we have a relatively healthy lineup, it'll be quite something to see what Z-Bad/Silf are capable of. They'll be playing with better players and won't be drawing the other teams' top defenders...it should be quite something to see.

Man, if Cowen can get 5-7 games in before the playoffs that might be enough time for him to find his stride really quick.

When I think of a player who is 'nothing special', the first guy I think of is Mike Lundin.

We got a sudden logjam at LW when Michalek returns (which sounds like sooner rather than later).

Well Michalek certainly can, he was RW for Spezza pretty much all last year. No idea about Conacher.

I love that we have the Greening/Smith/Neil line back. Best 3rd line in the biz.
