Andrew Cogliano is the type of player Read is. Cogliano is a player that Anahiem might part with after this season as well if they need to move salary. That's a guy the Sens could use.

I don't think Anaheim is parting with anyone to be honest. They need all the bodies they can get. Unless Selanne is the new Chelios

Yeah. And even when they do, Ryan is out of our price range. We need to be cool about losing Perry, it hurts badly, but Murray won't panic any time soon.

This year they won't be touching their team, that's for sure. With that said they are going to run into cap problems.

How is Ryan out of their price range?

And how did they "lose" Perry? It doesn't even hurt, we never had the guy.

I wouldn't really look too far into Matt Read. He's good, but certainly not at the expense of Wiercioch or Gryba right now. We'll have to keep looking - and it might take a while.

No Dung sherlock. He was a target that we all realistically thought we'd bid on. What the heck did you think I meant?

And yes, I think Ryan is out of our price range if we want to keep the young core together.

Alfie only missed one game after he had arthroscopic knee surgery. That's what Michalek had done today. Why are we saying he's out a month? The Sens' release did not have any dates in it.

Not sure I believe this... but the Blue Jackets blogger on HockeyBuzz says that Brassard is available. He was a 6th overall pick I believe -- and from Gatineau.. We all know how Murray likes the local guys and this kid could fit in well with the Sens...

The Jackets GM Kekalinan (sp?) reportedly likes Bishop as he drafted him.

So what would it take to add to Bishop to get Brassard in Ottawa. Young and skilled.. and would be properly developed in Ottawa...

I read somewhere it was a high ankle sprain... those injuries take a long time to heal... I'm expecting him back around the first part of April... to be in net when the Sens have 7 road games due to the Women's World Championships...

I heard it was to remove bone 'chips'... so it could not have been that bad a surgery...

Goalie skates don't have the high ankle support like regular hockey boots, and I also don't remember anyone calling it one (being fearful it was one, yes). He was barely limping the next day. I think he may have pushed himself back on skates too soon and aggravated it.

Or, like I said earlier, maybe he's been secretly cooking with chicken.

I just don't want to be blindsided by a Michalek-like announcement...

"Anderson had successful surgery on his ankle this morning... out for the rest of the year and may miss the start of next season..."

Facepalm

Heh heh.

Wierioch or Cowen, same usual suspects

Ahhhhh! Ahhhhh!

I was thinking more a 1st round pick.

Wouldn't give up much more than Bishop and a prospect for Brassard to be honest. The Sens are rolling and even though he would be a very nice fit, he's not a guarantee.
