Another reason why Sportsnet is full of fail.

HC@N is entertaining to see Kypreos and MacLean try and verbally kill each other without getting kicked off the air, that is about it. It's awful. Getting news and insight on the Sens from any media in Toronto is 100% guaranteed fail.

In any case Bishop isn't going to land us a top-6 in any universe. We'll get a 2nd rounder back + change.

In a package? Why wouldn't he? I'm of the opinion that it's far more likely he will get a return somewhere between Lindback and Bobrovsky but that doesn't mean a seller isn't looking to improve their goaltending going into next season.

Philly is the big one I would be looking at.

So are the Sens (doctors ?) looking really bad right now ?

Anderson was supposed to be out for a few days. Garrioch reported that this injury takes 2-4 weeks. Anderson started taking shots in full equipment and has barely been on the ice since with no ETA.

They waited a month to have Michalek have surgery and now he's out til the playoffs. Was it MM's chocie ? Does he have to agree to the surgery, they can't force him ?

You could maybe add waiting a few weeks to have Cowen get surgery as well.

In a package ? yes (depending on the package of course).

But a 1 for 1 swap, no chance.

Well no, obviously not. Anyone suggesting that is insane. Bishop has value but not the value of a top 6 forward straight up. Only one they might be able to get is Briere and that's because he has a full NTC.

I want to know what is going on with Anderson's ankle rehab. Crazy that it's taking this long...

He's got 27 games, needs 28. Needs to also play 30 minutes in that game.

High ankle sprains are crazy and the way Lehner and Bishop are playing right now, no reason to rush him. I think that's all it is honestly.

Who is there that won't cost a decent amount of cash to a team that basically bleeds out money? Backstrom? Luongo (maybe an option), Theodore? Seriously, it's a nice thought they could go out and make an Anderson type deal but that doesn't happen every day... I don't want to say Ottawa got lucky but they were fortunate enough to take advantage of a situation elsewhere.

Should they bring in Brian Elliott?

I'm not saying Bishop is the guy they have to get, I am saying that getting that "established" vet doesn't mean anything if he lets in every frigging shot. Bring in a goalie coach that's a year out of retirement if that's the case.

Can't answer the who, can only give my opinion which is - no to Bishop.

So instead of actually listing some names or saying who would be a good fit in Florida, you just say no to Bishop being there in a 1A/1B scenario? Doesn't make a ton of sense and pretty much limits and kind of conversation about it.

Bishop makes perfect sense in Florida considering their options at this point.

If I was Tallon, I'd say enough screwing around and I'd bring in a number one goalie. Markstrom can be the 1B to a 1A, a guy whose been around and has won. I'm not sure I'd go after Luongo personally because of the term of his contract, I'd be looking for a Vokoun type - and yes, he's struggled with the Pens this year, but he's obviously still a good goalie.

The only way I'd consider Bishop is if I struck out trying to acquire a veteran goalie. I don't want to go into the season with Bishop whose only tested in a small sample size and Markstrom who might be better off with another season in the AHL the way he's playing.

Adding to that would be that I hate the makeup of the defensive game in Florida. They let grade A chances happen all the time. That's bad for young goalies, so get me a vet.

I wouldn't question the medical staff. They can only recommend things based on what the players tell them. In MM's case, he probably wanted to tough it out without surgery...in Anderson's case, ankle sprains can vary wildly. It could feel pretty good one day, and you over-do it a little, and it sets you right back.

Have they actually called it a high ankle sprain? I know those are brutal and can take some time. That would explain the length.

Can't remember, but I think it was a regular sprain, not a high-ankle sprain. Regular sprains can be just as bad...typically, hockey players get "high-ankle" sprains, because the boot of the skate keeps their lower-ankle fixed.

I wonder if Matt Read would be a good option if Philly is desperate for defence and/or goaltending.

Freidmann just said that. Did you hear it from him, or are you spitballing?

Friedmann said it would be Read for a D-man, no idea who, I assume Wiercioch.

I just don't see who else it could be that we'd move for Read. Bishop + what?

Now Philly's a perfect place for Bishop IMO, I'd be after him for sure if I was Holmgren.

Maybe he's been cooking with chicken in secret.
