Man, if Michalek had this a month ago... he'd be back.

Should have done this a while ago.

No idea why he didn't just get it done but with that said, if you can add Spezza, Michalek, and Anderson to your team before the playoffs... that's better than any trade you could possibly make. Season ends April 27, playoffs start around the 30th I would imagine. That's 6 weeks... Michalek will be back.

Still holding out hope that Karlsson recovers.

I Cussing despise HC @ Noon. But hey, what great insight?? Hey, trade that guy that everyone's been saying is on the trade market for a top 6 forward. It's so easy! Did they mention that there's almost no market for goalies right now? Who was this magical "Top-6" forward we'd get back for Bishop? Cussing goofs.

Heh. To them, the NHL is NHL13 on XBOX.

Like I said in another thread, gotta wait for Anderson to be back and healthy. Everyone knows Lehner can be the guy for a while here but why risk it? Let Anderson get back to 100% and then trade Bishop when the time is right. That's why he is getting another game in so he is RFA no matter if he gets hurt in his next game or his first game with a new team. Leaves no uncertainty.

As early stated, a Bishop for Fleischmann swap makes a lot of sense.

This.

They have zero idea what they're talking about. I'll wait for Mac or Mendes or someone who actually knows what's happening in NHL circles before I believe HC at noon.

Pretty much... they think Ottawa needs to press the panic button over there in Toronto but as far as we can see here in Ottawa, doesn't look like the Sens need to being in a pretty good position right now in terms of the playoffs and guys a couple weeks away from returning.

A top 6 forward would be nice for sure but they are not going to give up anything considered an important current piece of the team for a rental or anyone who can't play going into next year.

Or Garrioch. Morbidly obese, or not, he usually has the inside track.

Not to me it doesn't. If I was GM of the Panthers, I'd be looking for a vet goalie to help Markstrom's transition. Theodore is a possibility if he's healthy I guess, but I'd be looking for a Vokoun type to come in and steady the ship and help Markstrom while he's at it.

Vokoun type? He's been awful. Florida's MO is getting those "established" vets and look where they are now. They need a guy who can come in and play well, not someone who played well 1/2 a decade ago.

Who is there that won't cost a decent amount of cash to a team that basically bleeds out money? Backstrom? Luongo (maybe an option), Theodore? Seriously, it's a nice thought they could go out and make an Anderson type deal but that doesn't happen every day... I don't want to say Ottawa got lucky but they were fortunate enough to take advantage of a situation elsewhere.

Should they bring in Brian Elliott?

I'm not saying Bishop is the guy they have to get, I am saying that getting that "established" vet doesn't mean anything if he lets in every frigging shot. Bring in a goalie coach that's a year out of retirement if that's the case.

It's Cussing depressing that, in Canada, HC@Noon is broadcast coast-to-coast on TV. Seriously...we can't do any better?

Another reason why Sportsnet is full of fail.

Can't answer the who, can only give my opinion which is - no to Bishop.

HC@N is entertaining to see Kypreos and MacLean try and verbally kill each other without getting kicked off the air, that is about it. It's awful. Getting news and insight on the Sens from any media in Toronto is 100% guaranteed fail.

In any case Bishop isn't going to land us a top-6 in any universe. We'll get a 2nd rounder back + change.

So instead of actually listing some names or saying who would be a good fit in Florida, you just say no to Bishop being there in a 1A/1B scenario? Doesn't make a ton of sense and pretty much limits and kind of conversation about it.

Bishop makes perfect sense in Florida considering their options at this point.

In a package? Why wouldn't he? I'm of the opinion that it's far more likely he will get a return somewhere between Lindback and Bobrovsky but that doesn't mean a seller isn't looking to improve their goaltending going into next season.

Philly is the big one I would be looking at.

So are the Sens (doctors ?) looking really bad right now ?

Anderson was supposed to be out for a few days. Garrioch reported that this injury takes 2-4 weeks. Anderson started taking shots in full equipment and has barely been on the ice since with no ETA.

They waited a month to have Michalek have surgery and now he's out til the playoffs. Was it MM's chocie ? Does he have to agree to the surgery, they can't force him ?

You could maybe add waiting a few weeks to have Cowen get surgery as well.

In a package ? yes (depending on the package of course).

But a 1 for 1 swap, no chance.
