We're going to need some heroes to step up if we want to be in the playoff race. Murray might have to make a trade or two, right now I am sure they're evaluating just how this team is given the injury situation.

If Michalek is done then I don't know what we can do, we've lost our top 3 point producers from last year for the season.

Lots of free agents playing over in Europe. Would we welcome back Jesse Wichester? Can Jason Arnott or Petr Sykora still play in a shortened season?

yeah that's a very good point. I'm not sure he'd be amazing but Jason Arnott isn't that far removed from being a number 2C. I mean it wouldn't cost us much and we wouldn't lose any picks or prospects. he's probably a little slow for this system.

Nash didn't play last night either.

Can the Sens beat Lundqvist and get a win? That's the question.

I would bet Biron gets the start tomorrow night.

Based on what? Not back-to-back nights, and it's not like Lundqvist was bad or over-worked.

Big game tonight and I can see it being a 1-0, 2-1 game for either side. Sens win and they move 5 points up on the Rags, they lose, they are 1 point behind and the Rangers have 2 games in hand so it's obvious what is at steak.

There are no must wins the rest of the way for the Sens because expectations are beyond low but a win here will put them in VERY good shape the rest of the way. If they want to make the playoffs (and they do) this is one they gotta take.

A win today plus losses by the Leafs and Boston would be nice. Sens would move up a few spots. Boston has a billion games in hand for some reason. They've only played 13.

Boston needs to keep winning, same with Montreal. Ottawa won't catch them so they may as well beat the teams Ottawa has to beat out as well.

Scored free tickets again for tonight. Sweeeeeet.

The over/under is 5 goals. Take the under on that one. 1-0, Sens shootout victory, Silf with the snipe, directly through Lundqvist's heart.

tim1_2 wrote:Hard to know what to expect out of the Rags these days. Torts has gotta be even more of a raving lunatic than normal lately.

Makes you wonder how long will the player put up with it. Coaches like that have a finite lifespan, if you're winning its one thing, if you're losing, torts screaming is even more annoying.

I was just thinking that he may be on his last legs over there. The expectation is for this team to win, and win big. Right now they are on track to miss the playoffs. Worse, yet, that last game against the Habs where both teams combined for 8 shots in the first period was just brutal -- heard this sentiment from several places. Boring. Could you imagine if they start failing to sell out?

Briefly caught McGuire on TGOR this morning and he said something interesting -- they are not blocking as many shots as they did last year. Some analysts, last year, wondered if Tortorella was driving them too hard during the regular season. Well, the "Pesky Sens" took them to 7 games so perhaps there was some truth to that. They had a really tough playoff run, Tortorella demands the moon and sun and I wouldn't be surprised if some of the players have just had enough. It's not like a team mate who is out there giving his 100% each night, asking them to do more. It's this short, grumpy Italian guy who gets to wear a suit while they're sweating, and never seems to pass up the opportunity to insult someone, including his own team. "Fonzie" was too nice a guy to have that as this guy's nickname; hes short, he's obnoxious -- let's call him "Grumpy" from now on.
