We need Spezza, Jared Cowen and if Corey Perry comes here we will be the best team in the East next year. Maybe challenges Chicago.

One guy not getting enough love tonight is Regin. He was great today but too bad he can't finish (can be said for many guys today )

Time to rest Andy. I don't know where he was looking in that overtime clusterdiddle of a goal but he's starting to lose track.

Well, not gonna take long before the rest of the league starts to acknowledge

I remember having a conversation with a couple of buddies who are leafs fans at the start of last season where they were comparing dmen for leafs and sens and raving about liles and phaneuf and Gardiner to which I proclaimed 'u know karlsson is better than all 3 of those guys combined...' to which they laughed of course.

Moral of the story: f through laffs nation

I think Anderson will get the start on Saturday for the national game to be honest... it's a big game and you want him starting in that one. Tuesday is the first 1/2 of the back to back to that's the time I believe they wills tart Bishop and then you roll with Anderson against Pitt the net night.

As for Karlsson being the best player on the planet right now... no Dung. People who are watching the guy play each and every night know this. People will refuse to say it just because he plays his position in a way only 2 players in the history of the game have played it before and they are Orr and Coffey. He does things nobody else can do and nobody else can stop him from doing. There isn't a D man in the game today that teams base their whole game plan around and there might not be a forward in the league that teams focus that much on either.

Let people say whatever they want about the guy, his critics are his critics and it won't change. He plays like this for a few more years and he will be in the discussion for one of the greatest hockey players of all time.

I will probably be cheering EK come Olympic time even if they are playing against Canada. Club Team > National.

Clean up all those Cussing odd-man rushes and that game was ours. Bah.

Based on just this year (a WHOLE 10 games), it's Karlsson, Stamkos and the rest.

Let's just separate D and F then, because at the end of the day nobody is picking Karlsson over the legend Sidney Crosby.

Today I would. Crosby is not the same player after his concussions. He is not playing as aggressively/recklessly as before.

That's not true at all Laugh1

Agree to disagree.

No, that won't do.

It'll have to, sorry.

Sorry, I assumed the game day preview had that (they only had the TV network). My GDTs are 1-0-1. I believe NEELY has a better record, so coach will probably start him next.

Second period was pretty exciting.

Could've drafted Hamilton Sarcasm

We've got Gryba. He's not Hamilton, but we don't need a RHD to play 25+ minutes.

Exactly, you need a RH D man that going to play a tough 11-15 mins a night on the 3rd pairing. Ceci will be a guy that logs some easy mins behind Karlsson but he will be better served playing a year or two in the AHL developing because at the NHL level he will be getting about 20 seconds of ice with Karlsson playing 1/2 the game each night.

You want a guy like Gryba that will come in, do his job, and do it well. "Kid, give me 12 of your best mins and you will have a spot here for a while". Shot block, hit, and make simple plays... that's what Gryba will do at some point. He may get that chance in short order when bodies start going down again.

There is a play around the 3:30 mark where the Canes send it two forecheckers to stand just in front of the goal (sifted over toward the boards) waiting for EK to come out on one side or the other. I've never seen this. That's two forecheckers covering one guy who is behind his goal. So he ends up saucering the pass between the two, over their sticks, and now it's an odd-man rush the other way.

That had to be some kind of special play from Muller. I think it goes back to the drawing board.

No kidding. In addition to leading the league in shots, he's also leading the NHL in takeaways. Cheers

All hail HavlatMach9.

"Karls" Karlsson should have had about 12 assists in that game. He giftwrapped some easy goals for a lot of guys.
