I buy the Halal ones. They don't cost any more and they're better.

Ev, back in my day the best hot dogs (in Montreal) were the Steinberg's store brand (they allowed the apostrophes back then). Sadly, that store chain isn't around any more, and, in any case, regular hot dogs are no-longer 99 cents. Saw a pack for $5.99 yesterday. One of my daughters won't eat regular hotdogs because they're made of pig (her crib toy was a Piglet) and all-beef hot dogs are even more ridiculously priced. So chicken hot dogs it is.

That stupid Tanger outlet mall is opening today next to the CTC. 75 stores...the lineups have formed already.

From my experience "outlet mall" just means "collection of stores where you pay normal prices, but think you're getting a deal."

Kanata is the perfect place this.

That new outlet mall in Niagara is fricking HUGE. Holy crap. We drove by it recently - like a city.

Or you get a fantastic deal on those high-end brands except the deals are all for the styles/colors that didn't do well in stores -- and for good reason.

Boy, you got that right. Money to brain ration is about 1,000:1.

More Tanger opening day updates:

Janet Wilson‏@JanetDWilson:

After an hour in the car, police officer not letting traffic turn right into Tanger. Sending people back toward Canadian Tire Centre.

Tanger update:

Janet Wilson‏@JanetDWilson:

A real mess. Overflowing toilets cause some stores to close as sewage/odour seeps into retail space. #Tanger

I guess it isn't just the traffic that's backed up. What?!

Hey, SD and Clutch, I have an idea on how you can make money off this site -- charge SSF for using that smiley.

Went to Costco last night in Kanata and it was surprisingly not busy. My theory was that Tanger was occupying most people.

Did you see the fireworks they had out at the mall? I had a team/parents meeting at 8 and I think the fireworks started around 8:30. Wonder if the smell of sulfur from the fireworks masked the smell of overflowing toilets.
