Apparently he looks leaps and bounds better than any other AHLer. Is that the case?

I understand we don't want to be "desperate", but really, would it be the end of the world to bring White up and maybe have him take Brassard's spot as the #2 centre for a couple games? It's not like our offense will suffer....

Not Brassard's spot. No way. Absolutely not. Honestly a crazy suggestion. Much rather try Pageau there.

But with Smith out we need help at center, for sure. On the fourth line. Make it a scoring line to take since pressure off the top six. White centering Dzingel and Stalberg, perhaps.

What has Brassard or Pageau done lately to make you believe they'll produce anything on the 2nd line? Pageau is fine on the 3rd....

What has White done lately (in the NHL) to make you believe he'll produce anything on the 2nd line?

Exactly

Tim wants to bring up White. So do I. He was suggesting that White could replace Brassard as the 2LC for a couple games. I disagreed, saying that White should center the 4th line and *maybe* Pageau could trade places with Brassard between 2LC and 3LC. Tim's answer to that was "what have they done to make you think they'll produce on the 2nd line".

Do you not see the irony?

Yes, by all means, we need to upgrade on a couple of players. At this point White is an upgrade over pretty much anyone currently on the 4th line and he is also apparently a bit of a powerplay specialist. Also Harpur has been playing very well pretty much the whole year. Sure, Jokipaaka has more NHL games under his belt but Harpur already knows Boucher's system.

Harpur is 7th on the team in scoring, top among d-men. He is also even in plus/minus which, on that team, is rather miraculous. Claesson had one assist in 9 games before the callup. Harpur has 28 points in 63 games while playing good defense. I'm not suggesting Harpur is better or more deserving than Claesson as I have no idea how he was playing at the start of the season. I just know that he has really picked it up and is their best d-man both offensively and defensively.

BTW, Jokipaaka's best AHL season he played 68 games and collected 21 points on a stacked Texas team (they won the Calder Cup that year). True, he has almost 150 NHL games, but Harpur knows the system better. I'd say Harpur would be a better fit.

One more small rant -- they were leaving on a 5-game road trip with one d-man out (Methot). Boro is always one shift away from being injured. I think they should have gone on the trip with 8D. And when Karlsson got injured they should have been playing 7D in-game. With Ceci/Phaneuf playing more minutes the risk of injury goes up (as we saw last night). And the way our fourth line is playing, we'd be better off with 11F anyway. I think they should have brought up Harpur before leaving for the trip.

Now, I don't think they have a choice.

This exact thing cost us at least 1 point on the trip, maybe 2. Why the hell they played the Fin when he wasn't going to actually play is so dumb and to not call up Englund or harper was really backward thinking.

He is a 2-way forward in the Bergeron mold. Yes, he can play defence. At the forward position.

So we signed : centres max reinhart and Ben sexton, RW Tyler Randall, Damn Erik burfdoerfer and goalie Danny Taylor.

Anything worth noting here or is this just depth for Belleville?
