Good for the Rangers, they have a solid team, they don't need that trash on their team.

And even though you were kidding - neither do we.

He can join Redden...

Brilliant. Redden's goodness in the community will serve as an ideal counterweight to Avery's douchebaggery. Balance.

Interesting...he's a good 4th liner, the cost is a little high, but another bottom six PKer/leader. Not bad.

There's lots of speculation that this is part 1 of a bigger move...

Oh fart...there's always speculation with Toronto. Maybe they plan on shipping a d-man to the Rangers for something else?

Time will tell...but picking up a 4th liner for a pick...well...it is likely just a depth move by Burke.

In the comments section, there's speculation/rumour mongering of Komisarek for Horcoff.

One mistake for another. Makes sense.

Still, EDM is super thin at C. Can't them making matters even worse like this.

RNH, Gagner, Brule.... 4th line plug?

I wouldn't say Edmonton would be "super thin" at C, with Gagner, Nugent-Hopkins, Belanger, and Eberle (capable of playing C).

That said, that is a very young and inexperienced core to rely on….and it forces Edmonton to keep RNH. Anyway, can't see that trade happening.

He'll replace another 4th liner whom they will now be able to trade? Now, if that 4th liner was someone named Miller or Niedermayer, and if this was still 2009 or thereabout, then I could see this as part of a bigger move. But unless Burke's planning on putting Steckle behind the bench, I've got trouble seeing a bigger move that this might precipitate.

"Comments section" is another way of saying "Unsubstantiated rumors posted by mostly anonymous, unconnected fans."

That would be a good move for both teams, in theory. Komisarek has a no-move clause, so he can't even be waived much less traded. I love hearing how John Ferguson ruined that team yet some of the worst anchors are Jurke acquisitions. Laugh1 Laughing3

Brett MacLean waived by Phoenix. No chance he goes unclaimed. Ottawa may be in on him (sorry to channel my inner SpezD)

Yeah? David Steckel could start a chain of events that leads to a bigger trade? I'll believe it when I see it. Ahhhhh!
