Why/how does he have "ice in his veins in OT"? What are you basing that on?...

You can pretty much say most players have ice in their veins in OT, because you can't really prove that at all.

Last year he was on a line with Briere and Hartnell and they were directly responsible for at least 2 OT wins. This year, he's with JVR and Giroux (for most of the time) and again, they were responsible for a huge OT win to take them to the 2nd round I think - or if not, to force a Game 7 - and it was Leino's goal. No panic, just roofed it as Miller was going down.

He's a solid player, I'm not sure why he gets some negative press on this specific site (and nowhere else....maybe Detroit I guess).

Leino actually missed when first trying to beat Miller, then he scored along the ice with his second shot, he didn't roof it.

He'll probably bust wherever he goes, that's all I'm saying.

Then I'm thinking of one of his other goals that he roofed - over Miller. I'm almost 100% positive it was Leino.

He might bust, but I sincerely doubt it. Give him a play making C like Spezza (perfect fit, not too flashy, good puck retriever) or a guy like Michalek and let him play his game. I'm not saying he'll be a 100 point guy, but I could see him making the most of the opportunity on a top line (here hopefully) and netting 60 points (25 goals) and always working hard and having a good locker room presence.

Besides having 2 less points than JVR and netting the OT winner the other night, yeah, Leino hasn't done much. What exactly are you looking for? He's a hard forechecker who gets pucks back to JVR and/or Giroux depending on who he's playing with and has ice in his veins in OT.

Is that like a cheap shot but to a cat? Sounds worse.

In other news, the cat that was cheap-shotted is now demanding copious amounts of Meow-Mix.

Leino is NOT barely noticeable, he's been one of Philly's best players and probably one of the few who's creating space and scoring chances.

JVR is playing incredible hockey. I think the Flyers have found a nice replacement for the forward(s) they'll have to let go of to stay under the cap.

Plus, JVR's next contract should go down because of the ridiculous bonuses he's earning. Good news for the Flyers. He and Giroux (and Leino) look amazing.

Possibly players to be let go.. to get that good goaltender that can steal them playoff games. They have it all in forwards & defense... their weakness was goaltending, which is showing in the Boston series. Their goalies have been okay but can't steal that game they need to win.

Philly has had goaltending issues for a couple decades now.

Yeah, SpezD, I actually laughed out loud when they showed the replay of him going face first into the boards. I'm really glad he'll be OK, but GOD DAMN that was funny! The way his face smushed into the boards...for some reason he was unable to get his hands up to cushion the blow. That picture made me guffaw again.
