The guy has all the tools including size and a little grit to go along with it to make hismelf into a fantastic NHL player. Is offensive upside is def better than Landeskog or Couturier.

Not saying he's small but he's like 10 lbs heavier than RNH with the same height and RNH plays more physical. I would say Lando is the only one of the 3 that has a size advantage.

Diddle If we don't get RNH I'm really gonna be a disappointed fella even if I like Strome GAME DAY: New Jersey Devils @ Ottawa Senators - 7:30pm ET - THU. Mar. 15, 2011 - Page 5 395361

He's still 2 or 3 inchaes taller so that's a lot of room to put on some wieght. RNH probably does have the highest offensive potential of everyone, I don't think it's all that debatable but Strome is easily 2nd.

Better get used to it, 'cause it's starting to look like he'll go first, so unless we win the lottery...

I think 1, 2 in this draft is RNH and Larsson, not sure in what order though. We'll see how things shake out the next 3 weeks but it's looking more and more likely that Landeskog is going to fall right into Ottawa's lap, nothing wrong with that.

Random thought? Who invented the term "hockey sense"? Always wondered why we use it...nobody says Dan Marino has great football sense.

Different terms for different game. A General is a good word to describe a great QB, knows where all of his pieces on the field are, knows or has a good idea of what the other guys are trying to do, so on.

Hockey is the fastest game in the world and you do need a 6th sense to be the best, the best players do a lot on instinct which would lead to the term "sense".

I'm telling you this right now guys, if Edmonton manages to have a line of Hall/RNH/Eberle that would suck big time
On the other hand, Landeskog/Spezza/Butler I think is potentially great and more complete.

Is that dripping with sarcasm or is it just me?

Fair enough but who's gonna keep the puck out of their net?

Lehner

Lee/Cowen
Karlsson/Phillips
Wiercoich/Rundblad
Wideman/Gryba

That's a little more impressive than anything Edmonton could put upfront.

No. totally serious. Spezza is finding Butler left and right right now, Butler will create rebounds all the time bcause he can launch a rocket and Landeskog is gonna do what Greening is doing right now (along the boards, rebounds) with 10x more skill.

They certainly have a long way to go in net and on defense, but they are gonna suck bad next year again, and there's talk that 2012 is gonna be even better than 2008 for defensemen in the draft.
I think it's fair to say they've sucked bad for years now but are still behind the Sens in the rebuilding process. Murray has done a good job.

I'd still love to know how that Jersey dude hit Greening in the throat and didn't get a penalty.

I saw that play and remember Greening wanting to go after him. Pretty dirty.

I'd like to know why there's no follow up discipline on that hit as well.

I thought it was dirty too, wasn't impressed and was really surprised when the play kept going.

It was Zubrus and that was a WWE clothesline. At the game, fans were screaming.

FYI - eBay is the way to go for tickets now. I got 2 for last night's game Sec. 310, Row D for $41 ($20.50 each).

These meaningless wins are just that. I don't think we'll drop to 4th in the draft, but it's not out of the question.

Even worse, Cussing Nashville looks like they are on their way to a point at least, and Edmonton and Colorado are losing.

This is a watered down version of the late season Leafs surge we are all so fond of laughing at.

To be fair I don't think Melnyk et al. could have anticipated that late round picks Greening and Condra would have such a positive impact. I mean when you are tanking you get rid of the Vets and fill in with rookies and they did that. Anderson was super human and considering his season before his arrival that too couldn't have been expected. This team is relying on Brian Lee, Karlsson, and Hale on the back end and they're also relying on Butler, Greening, Condra, Shannon, and Neil pretty heavily and Alfie is out. What more could they do. They even have Lessard up. Should they have picked up a crappier goalie on waivers? Send Condra and Greening back down because they're too good right now? Find someone else that won't allow Spezza to be over a point a game? Maybe call up Benoit and bench Lee?

It's the goaltending. If we still had Elliott we wouldn't be winning these games. In fact, I would hazard a guess and say we wouldn't have won more than a game or two since the deadline if we hadn't traded for Anderson. We were tanking just fine. I understand the Anderson trade, but I also think it's the biggest reason why we will not be finishing any lower than 28th now. Sherman is looking like a genius at this point. Trade away a goaltender for an even crappier one.

Still, if Anderson re-signs, then I am fine with this, I just have my doubts whether he will or not, and if he doesn't this move could end up being a massive Diddle up on Murray's part.

I think with the trades Colorado did with Ottawa & St. Louis that they had full intention on tanking to get the #1 pick. How else can you explain it?
Anderson for Elliott? I know Anderson was not having his best season... but did they not see Elliott play this year. After all it was Colorado who contacted Murray first. I guess to do it this way with trades they can't be charged by the league by purposely blowing games to get 1st overall pick.

They didn't trade Chris Stewart and Shattenkirk to tank.
