Thanks Gamblor. The title is a bit misleading I agree. This is about Brand names vs. no name brands etc.... Emphasis is on the etc...

I will admit that I usually buy Heinz but I'll accept any ketchup into my home with open and loving arms.

I don't mind "Whipped Salad Dressing" compared to Miracle Whip.

I'm more of a Helman's Mayonaise kinda guy although I will use French's Mustard from time to time.

French's Mustard. That's my favorite. I'll admit to being slightly snobbish within the realm of mustard. Just about everything else I use generic brands (except for ketchup which my family won't allow), including salsa (mild only!).

So is that Avatar a picture of you after a taste of the Rooster sauce?

Now onto BBQ sauce. As long as it's Hickory Smoke I don't care who makes it.

Heinz is the best ketchup and I can tell the difference in the taste. Sugar levels... Heinz has the best balance.

I hate KD but love PC Mac and White cheese. I will layer the top of my Mac and Cheese with black pepper and douse it in Tobasco sauce. I love the Rooster sauce too. The hotter the better... I like to sweat half the calories off before I even get up from the table.

Miracle Whip is gross. It's a creamy vinegar. Hellman's is the best and I agree with Big Ev, the Southwest Sauce from Subway is quite good.

I can't stand store bought BBQ sauce. I will make my own.

You mean squeeze some into a mixing bowl and give it a stir with a whisk and call it your own?

Very labour intensive home made process right there.

Texas Bold is nice but like I said I don't really care that much. Certainly not enough to go to all the trouble of making my own. Wink

Laugh1 It's not as easy as that but it's still pretty easy to make your own. Some crushed tomotoes (canned is fine) some spice, some syrup/honey/molasses, etc... stir it up in a pot over heat and put in the fridge... done. Better than anything store bought.

My wife makes some but she won't let me see. I can tell that there's brown sugar, mustard and Worcestershire sauce in there anyway... and perhaps...

POISON!!!

Ohnoes!

That would explain a lot. How much of this home made "BBQ sauce" do you eat?
