Never tried or even know what the Man-o-War is, I stick to the 3-ring binder. Might be going to The Works today though, will look into it.

I used to bring my ugly Donkey dates there when i was 15... the pretty ones came later but there was no jacks to wow them to.shabbs wrote:Malibu Jacks! HA HA! Yep, remember that place...
depending on your taste it might sound weird. it's horseradish and dijon mustard... but it's delicious. anyone ever try the peanut butter one? i keep sayin i will but i get there and something else always sounds better. It's almost a ritual for me, everytime i'm in ottawa for more then 2 days the works gets squeezed in there at least once(or twice)Dash wrote:Never tried or even know what the Man-o-War is, I stick to the 3-ring binder. My wife found this place(not exactly in Ottawa I think I never been around there):

Supposedly really good, gotta try it sometime. Pricey though.
Look at the challenge these guys have. The Determinator Burger:
http://dsbbq.ca/the-determinator-hamburger.html
It is 5 1/2lbs. of food. It is made with 3-8oz home made burger patties, with sweet and smoky BBQ sauce, back bacon, beef brisket, three onion rings, blended cheese, chipotle mayo, 1lb. of fresh cut fries, 1lb. of creamy coleslaw and six quartered pickles. And if that's not enough we use grilled cheese sandwiches as buns. Yummy.
All you win is a golf shirt? No thanks!

Fancy cooking sh!t.
Few if any fast-food chains have enjoyed such a meteoric rise to Cult Food Status as Five Guys Burgers & Fries. What began with just a single burger joint in 1986 in Arlington, Virginia, has since catapulted to more than 835 outlets across the United States and four Canadian provinces. And it's still growing at the rate of over 200 each year.
While billions and billions have not yet been served (as at you-know-where), at 350,000 burgers sold each and every day I figure those lofty numbers can't be far behind. Heck, even president Barack Obama has been known to drop by for a mouthful of happiness -- a product placement that shameless TV producers at Top Chef can only dream about.
Now -- are you sitting down, Ottawa? -- the little burger chain that grew, and grew, is set to grow some more with four locations in the nation's capital to open before the year is through. The first in a new big-box plaza at 5517 Hazeldean Rd., Kanata, in front of a Lowe's and Value Village, is to open in the first week of August. The sign goes up on Monday.

that's a mean looking burger. any burger that has pickles the sizes of the patty deserves some looking into.Hoags wrote:I'm waiting for Five Guys Burgers and Fries to open in Kanata (1st week of August baby !)
