Wow, 16.8K only? Surprising. I guess all those Leafs fans can't bear to come out an jeer when they know that both teams playing will get a higher pick than theirs.

Like an AHLer. Greening was the guy that was most impressive of all the forwards along with Shannon. Svatos looks useless, Lassard is actually useless, and Spezza had his worst game in a while.
Lee looked solid again along side Phillips. Anderson is the real deal.

I read that Greening made a nice defensive play to help Anderson out. That's encouraging to see a young guy like that with a defensive conscience. Training camp next year is going to be SICK. So many guys are going to be fighting for spots. If I were Peter Regin, I'd be hoping I find my game again real fast.

Yep, could've used a scrap or two.

He better show up in shape and ready to go, if he has a camp like he did this year he will be waived, gaurenteed. Greening, Condra, and Butler all look like they will be up in Ottawa next year as the rookies who crack the forward ranks. The guy I think they really need to resign is Shannon, he looks fantastic and is really showing his worth out there. Personally, I think he's earned a 2 year deal around 600K.

About 20 variations on that theme. You'd be surprised how many grandparents die right around due dates. With such regularity.

From a big Regin supporter, I agree 100%.

Spezza was fine tonight, he took a couple of shifts that were a little long, but we will see efforts like this from Spezza until he has some NHL support back in the lineup. I would rather him try to hard to create than quit like Heatley used to when he wasn't scoring.NEELY wrote:hemlock wrote:Polutny has about 7 and a half minutes of ice tonight. How did he look? I like Greening, but you may well be setting the expectations too high. He probably wouldn't even be here if Michalek, Alfredsson and Regin were healthy.

I was there live and it was a play that could be viewed as amazing even if done by a seasoned veteran. There was a pass across, Anderson was left out of position, the boston player had a "yawning cage" and Greening got his stick in the way and prevented a goal.
I told my wife after that play that he deserved first star consideration for that play alone.

Not just blocking or getting a stick in the way of an open net either. I'm talking about pucks slipping through him, floating towards the goal line and a Sens player knocks it away before the opposing player can bat it in.
All I'm trying to say is the team is playing substantially better defense in front of their goalie which aids in him looking as good as he has. Just give some credit where it's due.
