Wow, 16.8K only? Surprising. I guess all those Leafs fans can't bear to come out an jeer when they know that both teams playing will get a higher pick than theirs.

Like an AHLer. Greening was the guy that was most impressive of all the forwards along with Shannon. Svatos looks useless, Lassard is actually useless, and Spezza had his worst game in a while.

Lee looked solid again along side Phillips. Anderson is the real deal.

I read that Greening made a nice defensive play to help Anderson out. That's encouraging to see a young guy like that with a defensive conscience. Training camp next year is going to be SICK. So many guys are going to be fighting for spots. If I were Peter Regin, I'd be hoping I find my game again real fast.

Oh and this was one of the most boring hockey games I've ever seen. The best part of the game was when it ended.

Yep, could've used a scrap or two.

He better show up in shape and ready to go, if he has a camp like he did this year he will be waived, gaurenteed. Greening, Condra, and Butler all look like they will be up in Ottawa next year as the rookies who crack the forward ranks. The guy I think they really need to resign is Shannon, he looks fantastic and is really showing his worth out there. Personally, I think he's earned a 2 year deal around 600K.

A hit would have been just fine.

I agree about Shannon. If we can ink him for around that price, I'd definitely want him.

About 20 variations on that theme. You'd be surprised how many grandparents die right around due dates. With such regularity.

When I was in school, I managed to go through about 4 sets of grandparents per year. Can't go to the well more than that though. Sarcasm

From a big Regin supporter, I agree 100%.

I would really like to see him find his way, otherwise he could play himself right down the depth chart a la Cody Bass.

I was there live and it was a play that could be viewed as amazing even if done by a seasoned veteran. There was a pass across, Anderson was left out of position, the boston player had a "yawning cage" and Greening got his stick in the way and prevented a goal.

I told my wife after that play that he deserved first star consideration for that play alone.

Spezza was fine tonight, he took a couple of shifts that were a little long, but we will see efforts like this from Spezza until he has some NHL support back in the lineup. I would rather him try to hard to create than quit like Heatley used to when he wasn't scoring.

I like Greening, but you may well be setting the expectations too high. He probably wouldn't even be here if Michalek, Alfredsson and Regin were healthy.

Never questioned his effort in fact, I think he was trying too hard. That said, it effected his game and he wasn't very good last night. He's been The Sens best player a lot of the year so it isn't like I'm ripping on him, it's just simply my observation about the game. He had some ugly turn overs, got caught out of the play a lot, and just didn't seem there mentally. No worries though, he's been fine and will be better next game.

As for Greening you can't really use the excuse "he wouldn't be here unless" kind of thing. That's how guys get opportunities in The NHL and it's up to him to make the most of it. It seems that he is because he was one of the more noticable players on the ice for The Sens and he has been solid almost every game. Tough to ignore that speed and size combo. Either way, I think he cracks the teams 4th line next year because he hasn't looked out of place at all so far in his NHL career. He isn't a 1st liner but he can damn sure be a 3rd, 4th line energy guy with his assets.

Also created a major offensive chance in the neutral zone where he made a slick move and broke through The Bruins trap. He was physical, he was hard on the forcheck, really liked his game. Lee was another guy that stuck out along with Phillips to me. Kuba and Karlsson looked alright as well and Gonchar was limited to what he could do playing with D.Smith, but they looked alright out there, good to see someone from Bingo get a chance.

I know there's a big love in for Anderson right now but I'd like to point out that there were at least 4 occasions in the last two games where either a forward or a Defenseman has bailed Anderson out. Not just blocking or getting a stick in the way of an open net either. I'm talking about pucks slipping through him, floating towards the goal line and a Sens player knocks it away before the opposing player can bat it in.

All I'm trying to say is the team is playing substantially better defense in front of their goalie which aids in him looking as good as he has. Just give some credit where it's due.

Chicken and the egg theory right there. Anderson was awesome again last night but yes, sometimes the goalie needs to be helped out and last night the D gave him a lot of support as well. Rask had a ton of help from his D too, that's what good teams do, they cover for each others mistakes.

The team is playing better in front of Anderson but it's because Anderson gives them a ton more confidence than Elliott or Leclaire did. They know the first shot of the game isn't going in and they know it isn't a mtter of time before a weak one goes in.
