We'd probably have to take a contract which extends past this year. If it's not a total scrub, and the cap hit is reasonable, I'd certainly consider it. There are bound to be some teams looking at cap relief next year already.

I obviously made it up. Does make a little sense though. Veteran backup with playoff experience, and D depth which can be resigned at a reasonable cost next year.
