Not surprising to me actually, this gives Lehner the opportunity to go to the AHL and help a Bingo squad that has been ravaged by callups and injuries. Only question is what will happen with Leclaire and Brodeur once everyone is healthy.

Why didn't we just use Leclaire as backup until the end of the year? Why pay someone else?

If Leclaire was the backup and he got hurt, which would probably happen, then we would have to call up Lehner again. This is a great move.
