Murray can be a cheap Diddle sometimes - which I like. 2.75?

am okay with that, 3 or 4 years?

Sens will try for 3, Phillips' will demand 4. Do they settle on a 3 X 3? I'm intrigued to see the numbers if this happens.

250K to save a year, I think that can work.

You realize that I'm completely guessing here, right? Smile

Yeah. And it seems like players never ever really take a pay-cut, regardless of their play.

Chirp in the comments section of his blog claims he's hearing rumours it will be a 2 year deal.

When probed on the issue yesterday, BM said, "A reduction." "A significant reduction?" "No, but a reduction." Something to that effect.

guess we will have to wait and see the official terms to justify the reduction BM is talking about, hopefully it makes sense cap wise.

I read he turned down Murray's first offer, must have been real low.

The Sens' first offer should be a low (non insulting) offer. Standard negotiation. I think his agent said talks are progressing well so its not like A-train where they were far apart and never came to any common ground.

Seeing what other D-men are going for and that Chris has kind of killed his value with his bad play season I think they will resign him rather than trade him for peanuts.

I can see that too. Perhaps it hits 3 million per year, but I think I speak for everyone when I say I hope it's less.

Because of the fact he wouldn't waive his no trade clause and we lost out on getting assests. It better not be for more than 2m per

It doesn't sound like the Sens even approached with a trade and a request to waive his NTC.

Murray probably has/had some offers on the table and they can't be all that good otherwise he'd be gone by now.

Either the asking price is too high or (more likely) other teams do not value Chris Philips as we do and are trying to get him for a song.

I can see the new deal being between 2.5-3.0 cap hit.
