Interested to see what Wick does has really earned this shot and has shown he can compete at the top level.

Not that I don’t enjoy reading your posts, but you’re going mile-a-minute with some very definitive statements. Just wondering if you have some sort of background or credentials, or if you’re just really opinionated.

Just by watching the game and basing my opinion off that. Locke is lacking the speed needed to be an NHLer as a smaller player. You look at a guy like Shannon, he doesn't have the vision or skill Locke does but his speed trumps all of that. Otherwise you have St.Louis.

Locke doesn't have the time or space to make a play and he can't outmuscle guys in The NHL like he does on occasion in The AHL. Just doesn't have the makeup. I'm not hating but it's just the way it is.

Really opinionated, but in this case there is way more proof that's backs up his argument than stuff that goes against it.
Plus I agree with it, so you know it's right Laugh1

Exactly

Meh. Could be, in part, fulfillment of the org's promises to him, &, in part, incentive to have him sign with us again next year so he continues to help Bingo out. Who knows.

I get what you're saying tho'.

Yeah, I am of the opinion it's a "throw him a bone" kind of thing too. Same with Wick.

Fact is they help down in The AHL and winning allows kids to develop in way that would otherwise be potentially harmful. Nothing wrong with organizational depth.

I actually assumed that as well, maybe this is a way of keeping him happy so he re-signs with Bingo and keeps up the winning tradition down there?

I agree in that Locke will never replicate his AHL success in the NHL, barring a dramatic increase in speed/strength. Just checking to see if you knew something we didn’t.

Locke is signed for next year as well.

We'll have more potential prospects in Bingo next year, Locke may no longer be needed after next year.

Do you watch the games? I don't, I'm just curious if you actually watch or just relying on HFBoards hearsay.

The AHL live thing is too damn expensive, I catch them once in a while on one of the free stream sites. Wick wasn't getting physically involved at all, shying away for a long, long time. When they put him with O'Brien and Condra, it created some room for him to make some plays and he got to where he is now, but he simply can't play a game that requires him to go to corners right now - unless that's changed dramatically.

I'm very curious to see him tonight, but I think we can all see the future - and that's that he needs to bulk up his core if he's to have success in the NHL.

Sounds like there has been some progress on extension talks with Chris Phillips. The two sides are getting closer.

Possible that Philips stays after all.

Plus, all these guys get chances, like Giroux - he plays spot duty in the NHL, that's the guy that came to mind first. I think Locke should be utilized in situations where he can help - ie, PP2, centering a line with two big wingers, that kind of thing. Otherwise, we're just wasting his time and Bingo's time.

Does that mean there'll be a trade to announce of Kuba or Gonchar?

Sens will try for 3, Phillips' will demand 4. Do they settle on a 3 X 3? I'm intrigued to see the numbers if this happens.

250K to save a year, I think that can work.

You realize that I'm completely guessing here, right? Smile
