Sens Skills tidbit:

Karlsson set the record with a time of 13.7 beating Vermette's old time (Sorry don't remember it).

But even more surprising was Colin Greening beat that newly minted record with a time of 13.665.

Greening also had a shot over 100 MPH in the hardest shot contest losing out to Matt Carkner.

Update on Winchester...sort of. I was at the Sens Skill competition in case you hadn't guessed that already and they had Winchester enter the competition during the Shoot out elimination round. Not sure if that means much other than he's at least skating and able to take a shot. Also I don't know if they'd put him in that if he wasn't at least close to ready right?

Big dude who skates fast AND has a hard shot. Me likey.

I want to see more of this guy. No more Shannon & Lessard linemates, either. If Regin's out, put Greening with Foligno & Kovalev for a period or two, & let's see what he can do.

Agreed. I think enough guys have been traded and enough guys are injured that we'll see a lot of guys get a reasonable opportunity to show their skills (pun intended).

They should do a pentathlon-like event. Think you're a big shot, Mr. Chara? Let's see how fast you can skate. Next, how about some accuracy shooting. Now, let's take a couple of face offs. And speaking of face offs, Mr. Boogard is waiting for you for your last event.

I was, of course, thinking more of the All Stars and not just the Sens Skills competition.

So what's up with Regin? I've seen mention of a possible season ending injury? What?

EDIT: I see BooBoo has the info here:

Regin went down in a heap last game; definitely looked like a separated shoulder to me. Something serious anyway.

Leclaire, what can you say? The guy is a walking self-parody at this point.

He's certainly not helping himself is he? He's done. With the weak market for goalies in the last few years, he's done. I know I said in another post we should sign him as a backup. Unless we can pay per game -lol, it shouldn't happen. And at pay-per-game, he'd earn more at McDonalds anyway....

not mentally ready or did he get hurt picking up his luggage off the plane? seriously, this guy needs a personal assistant to do the grunt work for him.

some interesting comments from Pierre Dorion, I really didn't think Silfverberg would be ready that quick

He definitely believes Rundblad will be in the line up contributing next season and had nothing but good things to say about Jakob Silfverberg.

Dorion says Silfverberg translates into a second/third line forward and he expects him to be an Ottawa Senator at some point next season.

Also seemed very excited about the idea of having two first round picks. Expects that whoever they take first will be in the line up contributing next year too.

Dorion really likes the depth of this year's draft compared to last year and feels that they can be in a great position moving forward with two 1st and 2nd round picks.

What the heck is going on? I thought Silfverberg said that he felt he wasn't ready for the NHL and would likely stay in the SEL? If they talked to him and he agreed, that's something very new.
