Meh there were some good times. Fisher was a beast in the 07 playoffs, but yeah, the last two years, he's been overpaid for sure.

This is the right move, despite what the fairweather average Ottawa hockey fan thinks.

those fans drive me bonkers... same ones that call for a PMD, and celebrate getting Gonchar, are critizing Murray for signing him.. many people just assume that every market has a fair and equal chance to attain players. Murray had to give Kovalev and Gonchar extra years to get them here.. that's just the way it is.. I think Murray has done a great job, the players aren't playing up to their abilities, that's a coaching problem. I hope we keep Murray. I really might be sick if Pierre McGuire steps in as GM..

I don't care if you have to give Kovalev an extra year to sign him, he shouldn't have even been signed for 1 year. Everyone knew that signing would blow up in Murray's face.

Murray for advisory role, please and thank you.

I disagree, he's done much more good than bad.. Pierre McGuire would ruin this team.

The fact is, you have absolutely no clue if he would ruin this team, nobody does. Murray has already ruined this team in the 4 years he's been GM, so the new GM couldn't be any worse.

Second, I didn't even mention Pierre, and I wouldn't want him as a GM of the Sens anymore.

Like really, we're sitting in last place almost and people think Murray should still be GM? What?

Anyway, sorry to interuppt the thread here. I don't have any appreciation for Fisher Sarcasm Except his wife is hot.

People who think BM ruined this team are challenged misremembering. BM was handed a ticking time bomb -- he knew it, & everybody knew it. That's why he's been working so hard to re-stock our prospect cupboards since day one.

Blame Muckler for our current situation.

This trade is a huge leap forward in leaving our current situation behind us. Very progressive and aggressive move. About time, really.

The haters will continue to hate Murray and those of us who were on his side probably still had doubts. A lot of my doubts were erased yesterday.

Mine as well, although my doubts mainly centered around Murrays trading and coach selection. It's a great sign though that Fisher was moved. We are 100% committed to a rebuild now.

While I am very disappointed that Fisher had to go, which it's obviously for the best interest of the Sens to part with him, I am quite impressed with the deal Murray got.

If Fisher can get a 1st, I am thinking Phillips could get close to that.

Possibly, but now that the floodgates have opened, I'm dying for things to happen.

All this waiting is Dung.

Blame both of them. You shoudn't go from SCF to last place in 4 years, no matter how empty the "cupboard" is. Murray has definitely done his part to "restock the cupboard" but that doesn't mean all his prospects are gonig to pan out, and when you take the turrible job he's done at the pro level into consideration, it's clear that a change is needed. Every unbiased fan and hockey expert can see it.

and is this post just copied and pasted between Murray supporters? I've seen this exact post in every thread and in every Sens forum on the web. It's the Murray supporters' main defense post Laugh1

Good luck Fisher. Best situation possible under the circumstances.

I just tuned in to the Nashville vs. Colorado game to see Mike Fisher's debut game.... so weird to see him in a different jersey. No score yet, so no 1st point as a Pred.

Halfway through the game:

Fisher is +1, no points yet, 6-1 in the faceoff circle.

Why couldn't he do that here?

Fisher got his first point as a Pred, a secondary assist.

Congrats Mike! TipHat

Both the Sens and Preds won 5-3 in their first games since the trade.

Looking at the stats, Fisher had 18:10 ice time and 16 face offs, compared to Legwand's 18:30 and 14. I take it they have a 1A/1B for the first two lines?
