I read somewhere that it wasn't a heart problem, which is good to hear.

I remember a few years ago he was sent home as Team Canada coach because he had been suffering from insomnia or something, and hadn't slept for several days straight.

Giguere out of the Leafs game with a lower body injury. Reimer is in nets. They're hurting for goalies... Gustavsson out with an ablation, Rynnas out with a broken finger...

Hope he's ok.

These last 2 days only become exponentially worse with this news.

Get well Mr. Quenneville. You are as tough as nails and will be behind the bench in no time.

"Be mad" and "Fight like your next shift depends on it".
Hope so. FingersCrossed

I haven't been able to get any more info. I'm left in the dark right now and it deosn't feel good. Thanks for that little bit of an update.

NJ wins again. They're really messing up their pick, but they're playing really well, can't fault that.

Kovalchuk playing like he can helps.

Is it possible they make the playoffs? Parise is scheduled to be back in early March.

Too little too late unfortunately.

They would need something like an .833 winning percentage to make the playoffs whereas the top team in the league is only playing at an .800ish pace, so unless they went on the run of all runs they will fall short.

Agreed.

Kypreos is tweeting that Richards is out with a concussion. Didn't realize that. Not the best timing if they plan on moving him, though it sounds like they'd much prefer to re-sign him.

So, the best they can do now is a TML-style race to 9th or 10th place? Brutal.

Devils are 8-1-1 in their last 10 and still in 13th place. Their target should be the Rangers, who they are 14 points behind but play twice more.

To get in, they likely need 92 points. That means going 21-4 the rest of the way. They only have 11 games against teams not currently in a playoff spot.

If the number for making the playoffs creeps down to 86 they have a slight chance but I don't see any of the current top 8 falling out.

Amazing. This is what we don't want to have happen - a big streak like that. Look at Toronto's 1st round pick, all of a sudden it's lost value.

Which is what the whole hockey except Boston should want

I'd still take it over Boston's own.

I saw someone's tweet saying that Kovalchuk is 833rd in +/-.

Fun math time:

23 (max roster) x 30 - 690. That means he's worse than the entire NHL starting lineup and 142 callups.

Kovalchuk is -22.

We have 3 d-men with worse +/- than that. Karlsson, Kuba, and Phillips.
