Yeah? He has a tough NTC and loves it there and has become one of their only tough players, I wouldn't do that personally. Scoring? The Flyers have a ton of. Big dudes at forward, not so much IMO.

I'd do Versteeg and Carle, re-sign O'Donnell and get another vet on the backend on the cheap, then sign the goalie, but as always...easier said than done.

He's got an NTC which will be harder to pull off (although I'm sure Holmgren will try).

I wasn't aware of that. Yeah, definitely not waiving for us. Same with Briere.

Versteeg, Carle, and/or Meszaros it is.

Briere's impossible now, they'd want the 6th overall for him. He's literally becoming the heartbeat of that team - even over Richards.

Yeah they'd be better off trading Versteeg, Carle and/or Meszaros. I'm sure they'll listen to offers on Carter but unless one blows them away I doubt they'll do it.

We'd have to trade a prospect and our 1st rounder for Carter and the Sens are getting ready to draft someone so I doubt we'll make any deals with Philly.

Panthers will be the salary dumping ground for several teams I imagine.

Why would Florida give up youth and picks for other players dead weight though?

I get that Carter is somewhat of a top player, but if he was that good, Philly would only move him at a last resort. They are the ones in trouble for cap and they have to figure that out themselves. If I am Florida I am not giving up a lot to help out a team. Not many NHL teams can afford these big contracts so good luck unloading your huge contracts.

Florida can reach the floor in one of a few ways. They can absorb other teams inflated contracts, they can sign FA's looking for a home, or they can re-sign their own players to larger deals. If I am Florida, I would do the last two. No way I give up picks and prospects.

Only player I'd be worried about is Gudbranson. Doesn't sound like he wants to be there and they for some reason don't sound to keen on throwing big bucks his way, which is weird. Could expect a trade possibly, like what St. Louis and Ottawa did. A team in this draft might want a defenceman and Florida might trade for their 1st round pick.

I heard those rumours on Gudbranson as well.

But TSN interviewed Dale Talon and he expected to sign him. So I guess rumours are rumours.

I'm sure Tallon has a plan (but I don't know what it is). Last year he shed lots of contracts for basically draft picks such as Horton and Campbell for the 15th in 2010 and Wideman who he later traded to CBJ for a third.

I doubt that he trades Gudbranson.

Tallon pretty much said he's gonna take the most skilled forward available.
Huberdeau is my guess.

I have a feeling Hamilton goes higher than expected. There's that 'buzz' about him being a special player.

I think NJ takes Larsson or Hamilton, by trading down to 6th.
They have to be sure NYI doesn't take them first though.

If I were NJ I would just sit there and take one of Murphy or Hamilton, but there certainly sounds like a lot of people were wowed by Hamilton - so they might be better off just staying at 4 instead of tempting fate with the Isles taking him.

I also have a hard time thinking anyone would pass on Landeskog after the big 3.
The player is just too easy to fall in love with.

Not if you need skill though.

Strome is probably the only guy who has more "raw" skill after that and he has his question marks. Maybe Murphy but he is one dimensional.
The way the Bruins have dominated skilled teams in these playoffs will influence the GMs I'm sure.
