Yeah, Rask was a guy that caught my eye in a big way. I remember when he was projected to go much higher.

I want Jean Gabriel Pageau with one our picks. He's the MVP of the Q playoffs to me so far having seen Gatineau a few times. Hat trick last night (all ES) facing elimination

If not, what are the 5 guys people want to pick in that range so I can look into them a little more.

Mark Scheifele
Matt Puempel
Ty Rattie
Rocco Grimaldi
Zack Phillips
Boone Jenner

Potential huge steals if available at 21

I like all of those guys, except I don't know about Grimaldi or Jenner yet. Puempel is my choice based on what I've read, but again, I don't know that much about from 11-30.

If the drafting goes according to the CSS and ISS rankings (which it never does obviously) then you can add Nicklas Jensen to that list. I'm very high on Matt Puempel because I believe he would really excel on Spezza's wing, and we could groom him to being the kind of sniper spezza needs.

I'm apprehensive about Phillips because he plays on that stacked line, and because Huberdeau is such a good playmaker (and NBers don't make great hockey players Sarcasm ). Alternatively, I keep going back and forth on Jurco. He is an explosive player who sees 2nd line minutes (although he started the season off on the top line) on a stacked team. His hands, his shot, and his work ethic show similarities to Havlat, although with his skating, he's not as shifty or agile, not sure about his speed/acceleration either.

Boone Jenner reminds me of another Mike Fisher. I liked Fisher, but I think we have enough of those 3rd line forwards in our system, I'd rather take a couple chances on players who could be more explosive and be those top line players. We could always draft an Adam Lowry or Austen Brassard with our 3rd rounder.

I watched St John completely destroy Gatineau yesterday. The crowd was insane at the beginning but the Seadogs just have too much firepower...
Huberdeau just had one goal but he was setting up people left, right and center and was the best player on the ice and it was not close... You can tell they were trying to get him off his game with little success. The kid is just tenacious and his will to battle looked like Kesler's.
If he always plays like that I think he goes top 3 to be honest. He's just too good.

I caught some highlights on Sportscenter. Pick #6 is going to be intriguing.

Yeah, he's f-ing awesome. His snipe is amazing as well, one of the better pin-point accurate wristers I've seen recently. If he pushes his way into the top 5, do we have a shot at Couturier or even Landeskog? Because I think he will.

Do you think Sens have a chance to move up with BOTH picks?

Move from 6th to say 3rd...

And try to move the 21st (Nashville) pick up to top 10?

Or would it cost too much to do that.. in way of picks & prospects/current roster players.

I really think it would cost Nashville's pick to move up to 3rd. I really believe that. If I was a GM, I wouldn't let Ottawa move up to 3rd unless I was getting a really nice pick out of it. Maybe I'd do it for Foligno and the 6th overall, but I'd prefer the 6th overall and the 21st overall for the 2nd/3rd overall.

I'm not sure if people would think that's overpayment on our part, but that's what I would demand.

The more I hear about these prospects, the less inclined I am to give up anything of much value to move up a few spots. The more discussion I hear, the more I think it likely that we do nothing, or nothing major, in terms of jockeying for position in the 1st round.

We've got 6 picks inside the top 65. There's no pressing need to change that. We're going to come out of June 24/25 with our prospect shelves substantially re-stocked, and that's what matters.

Yeah, the guy I would move up for is Landeskog, but the more I hear about his upside, the more I think we should take our chances with the 6th overall as they're all fairly similar.

The more I hear of Huberdeau and Couturier, the more appealing they sound too. So, I think we're in relatively good position.

Meh, there's nothing else going on in the hockey world - besides the playoffs, which are exciting and all, but...
