Yeah thanks for only keeping the sens in the game after being throughly outplayed, yeah thanks for nothing Elliott. Let's ignore gonchar and Phillips who are too veteran to make dumbass plays like they did. Let's ignore our lackluster power play, or the fact that spezza was barely noticeable.

Elliott wouldn't be one of the first guys I'd target for blame tonight, but you can't defend him. A goalie with any amount of skill would have stopped the first couple goals in the second. Oh well, can't say I'm suprised.

Well, that was disappointing, but at least there were some bright spots.

Karlsson played 28:25 today (and was even on the night). The next closest was Alfie at 23:11. Kid also had more PK time than Gonchar or Kuba.

EDIT: But this team needs some Ryan Nugent-Hopkins.

Gonchar reminds me a lot of Alex Picard circa last year. Every time he touches the puck something bad happens.

Also, Spezza trying to pass across to Kuba in the last couple minutes or whatever when he could have taken the one-timer was frustrating as ****. When he's playing well, he shows a pretty high hockey IQ, but when he's playing badly, sometimes it's like he has Christoph Schubert's brain.

Yeah, I was impressed with Erik tonight. He seemingly is the only guy these days with the balls to try something creative offensively. His stamina was good too at the end, he was on for most of the 3rd period and still had the energy to fly back and attack Ovechkin.

With that being said, Clouston took him off the ice with less than a minute left for his ace in the hole - Filip Kuba.

I think the Boudreault speach can easily be applied to Ottawa.

I hope to god Gonch has been injured for the past month and a half, because he's looking Kuba bad.

I really liked him at the start of the year, though.

Not possible, Clouston doesn't have emotions.

EK's not the most complete player on the team, but right now, he's probably the best. I still hate the idea of putting him at forward, but I think he might be our most dangerous offensive player. At least at this juncture.

Yeah, but we have a pretty solid Video Coach who might be able to play it for them.

That just might happen after the juniors. I can see it, if Lehner stars in that tournament, Melnyk may push for bringing him in to at least get people excited. Look, we're not just missing the playoffs at this point, we're not close to selling out for most games.

That's because he played most of the powerplay that started with something like 2:40 to go in the game. However on that powerplay Karlsson played the right point and Gonchar the left. Again. Facepalm

I was in Toronto a few weeks back and was listening to the Fan 590. They were comparing Sens fans to Leafs fans. One caller called in and said "They (Sens fans) are not real fans. When the team's losing people don't go to games and support them like Leafs fans." The host of the show, who of course is a Leafs supporter, responded by saying, "That doesn't make them fake fans. If anything, that makes them better fans. They're not going to come to games and support a team that's losing. Tickets are expensive, and if management wants people to come to the games they're going to have to start listening to what the fans want and accept that fans aren't happy with their team." He then went on to say that Leafs fans continue to support the Leafs and pay ridiculous prices for tickets which makes management less likely to make moves because they don't have to.

I think Sens fans have every right not to go to games right now. Let's face it, our team sucks. Our biggest FA signings have been washed up, 35+ year old Russians; one who doesn't want to be here, and one who signed here for that 3rd extra year of guaranteed money. Our best player just turned 38, our playmaker has no one to pass the puck to, and our starting goalie spends more time in the hospital than on the ice. If you ask me, our only bright spot right now is Karlsson, and our prospects coming up the system.

I'm a Sens fan like the rest of you but I don't see myself going to any more games this year. It's just not worth it for me to pay all that money and drive out to Kanata to be let down and disappointed. Management needs to realize that it's a privilege to play in this city, not the other way around. If they want our continued support, their product has to be a lot better. I'm all for a re-build; I think most Sens fans are. At least it's a sign that this franchise is heading in the right direction. I rather support a young, hard-working team than a bunch of guys playing to pad their wallets.

Karlsson was phenomenal - but no way do I move him to FWD.

Elliott started of well - then collapsed.

Our veteran defenceman let us down - again.

RKN was yet again the best line.

Shannon is a sniper. RS > MM

Regin seriously has to change his number back to 43, 13 is not working for him....

at this point, our all-star game representative is going to be Erik Karlsson, hands down.

Ryan Shannon is outscoring Peter Regin. Our 3rd and 4th lines are playing very well yet our top 6 are letting us down so badly.

I want to give up and hope for a high draft pick (RNH or Landeskog), but I spent waaay too much time wishing for the season to come in the long summer only to stop caring after game 35. Call it die-hard fan syndrome or whatever, I know what the odds are and considering our recent play, there's no reason to believe it'll turn around, but I guess I gotta keep the faith. BUT.....time is nigh to bury kovalev in the minors if we can't trade him. I just can't stand him any longer, despite being one of his biggest supporters.

We have anywhere between 2 and 4 Top 6 forwards. That's the problem. Has been for years.
