I'm fully on board for a firesale. Melnyk needs to do an overhaul, from the GM right through to the players.

It's hard to even cheer for this fucking franchise these days.

Clearly, something needs to happen, if only for the sake of doing something. Doing nothing, while clinging to the mantra that this is a playoff team, is just an insult to the fans.

Outside of Karlsson and Alfie (for sentimental reasons), I am not opposed to anyone from this roster being moved. In fact, I'd like to see Gonchar and Kuba get hit by a bus. Surely, there's some loophole in the CBA allowing us to remove their hits from the cap in a situation like that right?

It's just a one goal deficit, though. Caps may have lost 8 straight but they are still the Caps, and last night they played pretty well against a solid Boston team.

Getting scored on in the first minute of a period sucks though. I always wonder if it's on the coach for not having them prepared. They used to say the 2-0 lead is the most dangerous lead in hockey. Well, against a team like Washington it's even more dangerous. To get scored at 0:34 usually means they were not prepared -- expecting the caps to fold.

philips should enjoy his time here cause he should not be resigned what the hell is with wasting the last 12 seconds of a period it's not like we have a lead to try and protect

When we learn how to avoid those stupid breakdowns, we might actually be an average team. Maybe.

Two excruciatingly dumb mistakes by gonchar and philips led to two goals and essentially a gigantic turn in the tide. It's been all caps...if those mistakes don't happen, it might be the sens leading.

unfortunately the stupity seems to be contagious gonchar was a good player last year he comes over and sucks kovalev hits 60+ points and in two years he he will be licky to hit 80 total this team need a rebuild and a total rebuild not patch work

That said, we got lucky when ovie's goal didn't count. Still one period to salvage this game.

as soon as that first caps goal was scored this game was over you could see the team stopped trying skating they started to pick it up with 2 min left in the period
