He's just so arrogant and cocky for absolutely no reason. Wonder if he still sends Bryan Murray a kick back for building "his" Stanley Cup winner.

He's a lawyer (from Harvard no less).

And Leafs don't have any worthwhile assets they can afford to part with, Burke is just looking for an idiot he can trade with (like Sutter and Bob Murray).

He's done a better job of rebuilding the Bruins.

I'd love to send a thank you card to Joe Nieuwendyk, I was doing backflips on the sofa when Dallas took Scott Glennie Laugh1

Apparently they'll play JVR at centre. They got their #1C finally Laughing3

As good a plan as any they've come up with.

I remember being in total shock that Dallas took Glennie. Kadri was surprising enough, but Glennie was literally shocking.

Cowen or MPS....couldn't have gone better for us (and to boot we made the right decision).

Cowen not even on the list.

Check out some of these scouting reports:

"#13 David Rundblad:
Tough defender to deal with down low also possesses wicked offensive potential"

"#11Nazem Kadri:
Continues to improve rapidly since his rookie season; will benefit further from another long playoff run"

"20 Scott Glennie:
Consistent scorer with the Wheat Kings, but can he do it without Schenn on his line?"

There's also an article on how injuries impacted players draft rankings: http://www.thehockeynews.com/articles/26313-A-Scouts-Life-Injury-impact-on-prospects.html

Pretty solid assessments there.

Cowen's 5th on that list. He was 3rd in mid-season rankings, I know because I was reading it on the crapper.

Will be interesting to see how long that lasts... Carlyle tried it with Bobby Ryan too...

Historically those kind of moves fail pretty quickly, we did the same with Foligno a few times it didn't work. There's a reason some players shift from C to W in the NHL. Ville Leino was the latest failure.

JVR went from C to W with Philly cuz Philly was stacked down the middle... didn't make sense for him to be a 4th line C.

It could work, they at least ought to try. Sens tried moving players too, Foligno and Fisher to name a few.
