Yah, can't see the Leafs not finishing in the basement again.

Haha, no we don't. Nothing the Leafs do could change their fortunes aside from MAYBE getting Luongo. Even then with Carlyle as the coach they will have problems each night scoring goals. Also, Lupul won't do what he did last year.

I could see them getting Vokoun, I doubt Luongo goes there.
Carlyle is just so wrong for the kind of team they have.
Buffalo is the only team that should do better in our division IMHO.
I could see us dropping out if Murray doesn't make the right moves for our blueline because we might not score 249 goals in the season but we were 29th in shots against and 24th in GA.

Ottawa's stats are skewed from last year based on the start of the season. They really came into the season in tough shape because they were trying to build a system. It's between Ottawa, Boston, and Buffalo for the division again.

I swear, there's no way Lupul stays in Toronto under Carlyle. If he starts the season in Toronto, I'd be very surprised.

If they wanted to trade him, his value won't get any higher than it is right now. Even with the injury.

I think our position is a little precarious because Michalek had a career high shooting % and most of our best D-men are on the wrong side of 30.
Yes our goal differential got skewed by a bad start but Gonchar and Philips (especially Gonchar) may regress as they're not getting any younger. If we resign Kuba it's worse.
Murray has to bolster the blueline:
- Need someone other than EK who's a threat on the point, teams just focus on him on the PP
- Need to make sure Cowen isn't forced to do more than he's ready for. He might have a slump next year or he might be even better hard to say
- Gonchar's minutes may drop a little as he will be 39, need someone to potentially pick up the slack there, no not Carkner either.

Michalek is fairly consistant in terms og goals. He's good for around 25-30 every year. This year he basically stopped scoring at the 1/2 way point of the season and the Sens still continues to win.
Fact of the matter is the Sens can build on this past season because they had success and because they are young. A team like the Leafs caught lightning in a bottle with Lupul and that's the only reason they were not dead last in the conferance. No chance he repeats the season he just had especially with Carlyle.

He said so too on Montreal radio this morning. Also said Marty Lapointe would be hired in some capacity.
