no real standouts apart from price really. Markov looks alright. Galchen will probably turn out to be a good player cuz he didn't look out of place and actually scored but you can tell he is a bit tentative... he's still young and undersized it seams. actually Lars Eller carried himself pretty well. Pacioretty also looked ready to hit the ground running. but a real standout player. it's carey price's team.

I wonder if Eller will turn out. I think he still has some untapped skill. I guess we'll see.

Flo The Action wrote:i was at the habs scrimmage tonight. to be fair price made some nice saves but one bad stupid move that cost him a goal. but he looked really solid for the most part. the game whent 3-3 then they went to the shoot out... that's when it got stupid silly. in the first 3 shots both sides had a goal... then they had time to send every players from both sides without having any goals... sad, very sad. especially when you can't get one past Budaj.

Kaberle looks at least like he's been working out and lost a lot of weight but nothing amazing to report. Galchenyuk had one of the shootout but as a whole he doesn't look ready to make the team. Louis Leblanc doesn't look like an NHL player right now either. I don't know where beaulieu was only Tinordi as one of their top prospect seems almost there... if a little slow.
I expect another lottery pick for the habs this year.

apart from that they had the players lined up next to the entrance when we walked in and they were shaking people' hands. I shook bergevin's hands and gave him a very sarcastic "good luck" Sarcasm Laugh1
still that was a classy move by them for their fans.

Also watched it a bit. Price still amazes and that's about it. I still hate that crowd as usual. Gets excited for stupid things.

Heard the Habs had 17,000 fans at their intra-squad game the other day... they were chanting "We want PK! We want PK!" Heh heh.

No pressure, no pressure.

I would think this means less pressure. Not like they won't show up if they don't sign him right away or have a bad season lol. They have turned into the Maple Leafs over night.

They'll show up no matter what, no doubt about it. I doubt Bergevin is feeling any pressure at all. He's got his plan. I'm sure he was aware of the fans' chanting and it probably put a huge smile on his face... the passionate fans are back again. Cha-ching...

Yup. Molson is saying "we got 17,000 to pay to watch a glorified game a shinny". So nice to be a Sens fan trapped between those 2 Dung shows.

LeBrun: Carey Price not on ice for Montreal practice. Habs say maintenance day. Price said last night he tweaked something but said he'd play Sat

Let the drama begin!

He could break both legs and arms and still be better than anything Toronto has, so I think they're safe Saturday.

Rookies Gallagher, Galchenyuk make Habs roster...

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=413863

The Montreal Canadiens have given two rookies a chance to start the season in the National Hockey League.

On Friday, the club set their 23-man-roster that included 20-year-old right winger Brendan Gallagher and 18-year-old Alex Galchenyuk.

Both players can play up to five NHL games this season and still be sent back to junior without using up a year on their entry-level contracts.

In 36 games with the AHL's Hamilton Bulldogs this season, Gallagher has scored 10 goals and 10 assists.

Last season, the B.C. native scored 41 goals in 54 games with the Vancouver Giants of the WHL.

Galchenyuk was selected third overall in the 2012 NHL Draft, and was a member of the gold medal-winning U.S. team at the World Junior Hockey Championship earlier in the month.

He is currently the fifth leading scorer in the Ontario Hockey League, notching 27 goals and 34 assists in only 33 games with the Sarnia Sting.

Among the players the Canadiens sent down to get their roster to the limit were prospects Louis Leblanc and Jarred Tinordi as well as veteran defenceman Mike Commodore.

It's gonna be a long (short) season in Montreal. They'll panic and give Subban more than he deserves. Then when he doesn't live up to that contract the fans will turn on him. It could get ugly.

New GM, new mentality, they don't want to give in, they want to set presidence at this point.

So last year was the "Has Gomez scored yet" web site... where is the "Has PK signed with the Habs" web site?

The Habs are actually moving in the right direction, and a healthy Markov helps (see: last night). It sucks to get stuck with a Richard of player like Subban though. Very talented, but he's just a mega-douche. Hopefully the deal they eventually sign him too is reasonable ($4Mish per year?), and then they trade him eventually.

Or, on second thought, I hope the team implodes!!!

Good fit here, he wouldn't be the star, but again, not worth what he's asking and the risk of obtaining him is extremely high. Good young player though but no way would you give up the farm.
