I just spent an hour on the phone with Rogers. In the end they were willing to offer me 30% off the first year and 20% the second year -- that is if I signed up for the extra HD channels ($9.95/month). This would have actually lowered my monthly bill in the first year, but raised it in the second (and, of course, any other price increases would be on top of that).

For a while, there, I thought I'd watch the game in HD (it's on TSN, I think?) but in the end I said, "Screw it". I feel like I just wasted an hour of my time, but at least I stood my ground. My current discounts run out in February and Bell is getting very close to my price range -- I can get all I'm getting now, plus a second PVR and faster internet access, for about the same that I'm paying now -- the caveats are that it would be satellite (not a fan) and that's a 3-year deal (goes up after that). So maybe I give Rogers a call when it's closer to that time.

How are the Sens doing? I can't watch the game now.

Did you see the one Lessard tried to throw on McGuire? Highlight of the night! He missed a hit along the boards and flew into the little booth where Pierre stands. Priceless!

Was Karlsson's stick even anywhere near the guy's chin when he flinched? I'll have to watch it again on the big screen. It looked like the stick was up, then it was down, and *then* the flinch about a half second later.
