Nice cap hit - about what we all thought.

He's been working hard in the offseason to stay in shape and management knows it. Good signing.

I'm sorry, but this deserves its own thread?

My personal opinion is that all Sens signings do. We're still very Sens oriented here (to say the least). Smile

I saw a list of pending 2010 free agents somewhere. Jason Smith was on it.

Anyhow, I'm heading to the Kanata Hill for some Canada Day beavertails and waiting in lines. Couple of years ago I ran into A-Train down there. Not this year, eh?

Who is the odd man out of the forward ranks.
Alfie, Spezza, Michalek, Kovalev, Regin, Foligno, Fisher, Kelly, Neil, Ruttu, Winchester and Shannon are all on 1 way deals (assuming Regin and Foligno are signed). Butler and Z. Smith are on two ways.

So that's 12 one way contracts. It is apparent that Smith only has to have a good, not great camp to make the team and Butler fills a need. If we assume for a minute that they both make the club out of camp which 1 way contract is gone?

My guess is Ruttu, although I would prefer Del Shannon.

I think Shannon gets moved any minute or day now.

And Lee too...but maybe not, we might keep him around as the healthy scratch. He's cheap enough and adds instant injury reserve. Yeah, maybe that, we'll have like...0.8 million dollars in cap room if we trade Shannon and keep Lee.

And a 22 man roster I think. Z.Smith might again have to wait to make the NHL, but he should make sure to be prepared at all times.

I really think it's going to be either Foligno or Ruttu.

You would deal those guys over Lee or Shannon? Because you can fit under the cap if you get rid of these two - or at least Shannon.
