Because he's a great hockey player in every single sense. From his (apparent) leadership to his 'get it done' attitude, to his cannon point shot, PKing ability and that he, Alfie and Fisher formed a crazy line in the playoffs.

I'm disappointed, I really like Cullen a lot. More than a lot of guys who have come and gone over the years. More than some of the guys on this current team.

And Sutton, I liked him too, but I feel (somewhat) confident that we'll get a D-man on the morrow.

Boo hoo Cullen.

He'll price himself out of our range. Plus, I don't know why, but I don't really like him as a character. He's got the skills, but he's been benched this past year, there's some knocks on his game.

It's most likely Cullen's last contract, he has nothing to lose by waiting til tomorrow and see how much he can get from other teams.

Ottawa needs a D man, I know there are some sexy names out there but Ottawa's main concern is a D man and with Sutton and Cullen looking to be on the outs, Murray has to go nuts.

I thought it was a foregone conclusion that Michalek is coming here, just like Volchenkov is sleeping in AO's basement until his house is ready. Now someone is predicting LA-Train and Michalek to Pittsburgh over in the other thread. Has the world gone mad?

P.S. Just read that Modano is considering a West-coast team. Not sure if Detroit or St. Louis qualify, but after that earthquake last week, who knows.

Yeah, saw that. Was hopeful yesterday that he might re-sign in Ottawa... but I'm not feeling so hopeful today...
