Agreed on Kelly. I guess it depends on what the purpose of moving him would be. If it means adding Savard and pushing Fisher down to Line 1 C), then I'm sort of in favour. Maybe if it means a big upgrade on D too.

As much as I like Cullen, I wouldn't move Kelly to make room for Cullen.

I'll also go on record as saying that if we can somehow re-sign Cullen (or a similar player) and a Z.Michalek - we are going to be a force next year. I"m not saying Stanley Cup necessarily, but we'll be damn solid.

Gonchar would agree to a 3yr, $15 mil ext to stay in Pitt. Pens are stuck on 2 yrs max. Open market he could get $6 schmil per year.

I knew it would take 5+ to get Gonchar.

That amounts to an 18 million-dollar deal. 4.5 per if you offer 4 years.

What are you talking about today SSF?

Gonchar on a 3 year deal would accept 5 million dollars from Pittsburgh, likely a little higher elsewhere.

On a 4 year deal, I think he might accept 4.5, but at that point it's anyone's guess.

From what I've read, Pittsburgh isn't offering a 3 year deal. So my guess is based on those reports.

I wouldn't go 3 years regardless of caphit. I would however see if I could offer 2 x 6M. If I was GM that 3rd year would definitely be a deal breaker.
