Emery only played in 29 games fwiw. Maybe it's different for goalies though.

Emery is not a special circumstance. Do a little research before you post the rules. The NHL wont make an exception for a guy who has played 29 games in the last two years and who isnt even really a member of that team.
The fact you stated there would be an exception for Emery is laughable and then post a rule with no real examples behind that rule to support it. So go ahead, show me where a player played less then the required games and played in no playoff games in the finals, lets hear it.

Mike Illitch added his wife's parents names one year.
That's the reason the NHL is so strigent on who gets on there.

N4L wrote:Yup, they would. Why would they bend the rules for Emery who isnt well liked by The NHL to begin with? You act like Emery is some special case who deserves to have his name on that cup if They FLyers do win. He doesnt.
Special circumstances are what get excpeted, not Emery's injury.
Denis Savard also didnt play in the fianls and his name is on the cup as well. If you play in a certain amount of playoff games players get their names on the cup. Emery has contributed nothing to The Flyers in the playoffs or most of the regualr season. He will not have his name on the cup nor should he.
Big Ev wrote:There are also a ton of other examples, but I am not gonna research each name lol. Last year's exception for Pittsburgh was Mike Zigomanis, and Detroit's in 2008 was McCarty.
N4L wrote:Yup, they do... would have had them with Leighton in nets too. Anyways, Im not going to continue a discussion on a "wjat if" convo. I dont see anywhere where it says Zogomanis is on the stanley cup though.
