Haha, Windsor could beat France. Foligno and the rest of The US were trash, they should be ashamed of what happened. Next year they will have to play such super powers as South Korea, Poland, Ukraine, and others just to get back into The WC's, hopefully they have it in them!

At least we can keep telling ourselves that it's a nothing tournament.

Really, the only positive is that a lot of young players got their chance, and Tavares and Duchene really impressed. Same with Eberle in his limited time.

I'm glad Crosby turned it down because inviting him was stupid in itself for the fact that he would have taken time away from those guys.

I haven't been following this at all, but since no one mentions it, does that mean Karlsson is not playing right now for Sweden?

Nevermind, just checked the stats. 1G 2a, +4. Stats can be misleading though. How's he looked?

No, he is. Karlsson and the Swedes beat Regin and the Danes 4-2 in the quarterfinals yesterday and they'll face the Czechs in the Semifinal.

This Swedish team hasn't looked particularly good, though, and Karlsson looks mentally tired.

Adam Larsson's not playing in this tourney - #5 is Swedish whipping-man Christian Backman.

The pairings are:

Hedman - Johansson
Ericsson - Karlsson
OEL - Backman
Gunnarsson - Lindstrom

Unless you just mean, "Have you seen OEL?" In which case, yes, and he's friggin' amazing. Definitely their best player so far.

He started really well and now he's having real issues apparently. He needs to relax, he's tired but it can't screw with his mental reads.

I must have heard the commentator wrong, I was streaming in German . WHo was playing PP with OEL?

Choke-job of sorts by the Swedes today. Up by 1 in the dying seconds, Swedes ice the puck with 15 seconds to go (missing the empty net by inches), Czechs (Rachunek, damn him) tie it up with 8 seconds to go, and then win in a shoot-out.

Swedes will play for the bronze.
