Oh for sure, Swedes' work ethic are incomparable.
Doesn't mean you take the risk though.

Nope, I agree. The last thing you want is his confidence becoming cockyness, dont care how old you are or where you are from, that is always a risk.

Play the year out in The AHL, maybe get a start or two in Ottawa later on in the season, and make a push for the backup role in 2011/12. That's how it will more then likely play out.

So I guess we go into next year with Leclaire/Elliott in Ottawa and Lehner/Holt in Bingo ?

He definitely has a chance of making the NHL quicker than others, but I doubt we see him for a couple of years. Maybe 3 games next year, 8 games the year after, then a back-up role, then it's in his hands to steal the job and never look back.

I wonder if he'll be a backup as quick as next year, I'm not sure about that personally.

I think Lehner is in Ottawa for good in 2011/12.

So many factors though. If Elliott or Leclaire are tossing around league leading numbers, then I assume Lehner would be better served in the AHL instead of riding the pine. It's intriguing to watch, Lehner could force his way into the scene or he could be just good enough to get the 2nd year in the AHL.

It's good for him that both Elliott and Leclaire need contracts after next season for sure.

Actually yeah, I could see Lehner coming up after this season, Leclaire's a UFA, unless he's amazing, I can't see us keeping him.

I agree. If he shows enough of that talent over the season in Bingo it's a no brainer to bring him up. You'd have to pay Leclaire big bucks to stay if he had a good season. I would prefer to see Murray trade his rights and go with Elliott and Lehner then spend elsewhere if it came to that.
