From what it sounds like, the Sens need to tighten things up defensively.

They should insert cameras or sensors in the ice.

They need to buy the sensor technology pronto.

That was a bout the fifth time a Smurf was standing in front of the crease with no one around him, with a shot coming in from the point. Carkner, your job is to clear the front of the net!

Or give the guys in the booth more leeway in making *obvious* calls.

SpezDispenser wrote:It's also about time I reiterate: Diddle you Muckler for letting him go.

Hindsight is 20/20. Redden was a top 5 defenceman in the league that year.

A LOT of people didnt want Chara gone. The fact he wasnt even offered a contract by Muckler is embarassing as a Sens fan. Murray was one of those people who didnt want Chara gone just so people know.

There's a long interview with Murray somewhere where he was saying that he and the entire coaching staff was pleading and pleading with Muckler to get it done. Murray should have gone straight to Melnyk and said, sign them both! You don't let Zdeno Chara walk, you don't do it.

Depends what rumours you believe. But Muckler has always stated that he made an identical offer to both guys, so that he could keep both in the mix. When Chara refused and Redden agreed Mucks thought he had found the player with more character and signed Redden without even sending a counter offer to Chara.

Obviously there are conflicting reports here, but if Mucks side of the story is true, it's tough to blame the guy.

I know for an absolute hard cold fact, right from the horses mouth, he was not offered a cent by Muckler

Sens could easily be up 2-3 goals. Of course they've caught a break or two, like on that shoulder-save by Volchenkov.

Neely, ever think that, maybe, the horse had his own agenda?

Nope, 100% wanted to stay. He spends x-mas here and a lot of off time in Ottawa still. He loves this city.

That's the second 3 on 1 this period. One goal post and an easy save. Maybe Karlsson should have passed again.

His "property" here must be where he lived before I'd heard he never sold it and is renting it out (for the record, I can confirm there was never a For Sale sign there after he left). For a while, his girlfriend's car was still there once in a while, but I moved from the neighborhood a while back. Drive back once in a while when my kids visit friends. I hadn't heard any of them say that he's still around in the Summers, though, and that place must be rented out. For the record, it's just a medium sized house, nothing special.

Well, certainly we still love him and the fans (don't let the booing fool you, it's jealousy) would welcome him back with open arms.

I'll say it again - settle it down in the defensive zone.

This game just got crazy. Puck bouncing all over the place, chances galore.
