Well, no matter how shaky he looks some times, he has been in two 7-game series and has won both of them.

personaly i'm all for keeping leclaire next year, cuz i don't think we've seen what he's capable of when healthy, but let's say we did want to add someone... ellis? he could make a healthy competition and could easely fit as a #1 if elliot went south.

We add Ellis, Biron, Theodore, Vokoun, we are having this same conversation next year, maybe worse.

Ottawa's goaltending has been good this year, one bad game and people jump off a bridge. One good one and they say its a contriversy. People in Ottawa follow the media and just make Dung up for the sake of making Dung up.

If Murray added Vokoun, all of these goaltending debates would END. He is an ELITE goalie who is keeping Florida respectable. Ellis, Biron, and Theodore are definately not the answer, but Vokoun certainly is.

Murray would be elected mayor if he were to acquire Vokoun.

HappyDance1 i'm in montreal!
no seriously i agree with the idea that none of those guys are better then leclaire. ellis comes to mind because he's on par and might be a cheaper option.

i'll stick with wanting Bm to stay with ottawa loguer then this one year prolongation but Vokoun is an expensive option to take, both in what we'd have to give and the cap he would take. i don't want to become florida 2.1

Something could be worked out. As an example, and I am not saying it is even a remote possibility, but: Kovalev, Volchenkov and Leclaire for Vokoun + ?

Dude, Vokoun is not elite, what has he done to put himself in that catogory? Has he won anything? Has he ever been nominated for a Vezina? Has he ever been considered anything more then a good goaltender who can play great at times.

If Murray traded for Vokoun I would be furious.

Exactly, this team has over acheived already in HUGE part to the goaltending they have acctually recieved this year. They are going with Elliott and Leclaire until the end of the year so everyone is going to have to take the wait and see approch and will probably have to next year as well.

If Elliott goes on to rip things up that's great, if Leclaire does it, that's great too. There is too much tallent and potential between those two to not have a guy to go with for the next few years minimum.

Florida would gladly have taken Leclaire and his 3.8 million salary in exchange for Vokouns 6.3. Why are we trading Kovalev, exactly?

I was just saying - odds of re-signing Volchenkov to anything under 3.5M which still seems a tad expensive for a defensive defenceman are not looking very good; Kovalev is an overpaid, under-performing, uninspiring player - I'd rather have a young guy who wants to play take that spot; and frankly I'd rather have Vokoun than Leclaire.

Kovalev out means $5M more cap space, and you think Florida would give up Vokoun for Leclaire? I don't. What is in it for them?

??? Ok, I dont get how you can defend Spezza to no end and then say that.

As for having Vokoun over Leclaire, Leclaire is the backup right now, so who cares?

Kovalev is also our second best scorer and has a lot to do with the production Fisher has managed so far. Otherwise, what's in it for Florida is getting a potential successor to the aging Vokoun and saving 2.5 million bucks.

Laugh1 I agree.

You agreed that he would be bashed? If you were agreeing about 7-game series, he beat Washington and Detroit in 7.
