Ill bring up 2006 again. They lost to The Swiss and nothing changed.

As for that 2nd bold, it defines a lot of other nations now too, Canada isnt special in that they care or want it more then everyone else, those days are long gone.

Big difference between tonight's game and 2006. We got shutout then, tonight we actually won the freakin' game. 2 points vs 0 points. A shutout loss to a mediocre team probably fully deflated their confidence. We won tonight so I don't think that will be an issue.

I wouldn't mind seeing Morrow or Toews get a try-out on the Crosby/Nash line.

If Iginla is hurt, it has be Toews or Perry on that wing. Get there, drive the net and let Crosby have the tiniest inch more to work with. But yes, why the hell can't we see 20 minutes + of Crosby and Nash, they're awesome to watch. Toews on there...well that's probably THE clutch line. Come on! Ahhhhh!

I agree 100%. Way too much Sharks for my liking.

yeah that just screams clutch line, all 3 (Toews) are never resting, they always seem to being going 110%

Even if Iggy is okay, maybe try him on the line with the Duck boys, and roll Richards/Staal/Morrow

To be fair, they've been awesome, but the straw that stirs the drink when the tournament is on the line is Crosby and Nash, you have to get them in the flow right now. It's imperative. Ahhhhh!

They scored both goals, and I think Babcock just got too excitied about it. Its a sick line when used right. When leaned on completely, the line is practically useless.

Ill say this, tonight wasnt a win, it was lucky for Canada it wasnt a loss.

Canada is going to hit a good nation in the quarters. Could be Russia, could be the US, could be Sweden, if that's the effort the give, no shot they win anything.

Just because they won the game doesnt mean that the game was encouraging or have anything but negatives. The Swiss took them to a shootout, that's not a good thing, that shootout could have gone either way, they what are we saying? Be a little objective.

What a great line. Iginla - Getzlaf - Perry. Good stuff, that's 3 wicked lines. This is what I thought Babcock would be doing when we were deadlocked at 2 and looking slothy. I'm sure he'll do it now.

I still find it sad that Bergeron's sole job is to win defensive faceoff's then get off. Richards, Stamkos and St.Louis have to shaking their heads when they watched that all game.

Throw any 3 players together and tell me it wouldnt be a "great line".

As of right now, this Canada team has no leader, that's a huge problem.

At like an 80% rate though.

I seriously dont know how we are talking about Bergeron... like it's his fault they played that way?

Fact of the matter is Canada hasnt put together a real complete team in a long time, even in Salt Lake they were not the best team there, they just happend to win the gold.

Canada will just keep putting together a team of all stars and keep getting the same results then ask why?

The first goal was a great shot. But there were other plays where Brodeur looked half out of it. One near the end of the game stands out. He misplayed the puck off the boards and then was very Price-like on his way back to the crease. Lucky for him Chris Kelly had snuck onto the Swiss team and was the forechecking forward, so there was no goal.

I don't think it's a team of all stars, they just need to get fired up, pissed off and play a fantastic game.

A lot of people out there are playing like it's 1 game out of an 82 game season. They need to play like every shift is their last.

And Marty look a bit out of it. That may have been a great shot but he's Marty Diddling Brodeur.

Long story short, Canada wont win with efforts like that or if they dont start checking their ego's at the door.(they say it but that's all their doing). If they dont, that U.S team will actually beat them and then it will be a long a$$ haul to get to the gold medal game.

Meeting Sweden or Russia in the quarters would be a disaster.

It shows that this is a Sens dominated board, one misstep and everybody wants to hit the panic button.

I'm in no way saying it was a great game by the Canadians, in fact I was yelling at the TV louder than anyone else in the room at their cutesy plays. That being said, they still pulled out the win against a tough Swiss squad (which isn't getting nearly enough credit) who were riding a hot goaltender.

I guess I'm saying that we should wait until a loss before the nation calls it in, and keep cheering on our boys. We still have time to turn it around so everybody just settle down and enjoy the Olympics.

Next up is a tough American team (very underrated in my mind) that will be a good test for us. I'm inclined to think we'll win, but if we don't I'll still be there cheering on the team hoping they can win.

You're getting a completly unbias opinion with me because honestly, I could care less and was honestly hoping that The Swiss could pull it out. Im getting sick of Canadian hockey for the simple fact we thinks it's our God given right to win and other nations just dont care or compete like we do.

I'll never turn on The Sens but I would absolutely and have cheered against Canada. It's not a real representation of Canada IMO in terms of The Olympics or sport in general.

8th place or the Gold Medal, I dont care either way. Im counting the days until The NHL is back and we can watch real hockey. One game knock out tournaments, meh., not the same.
