Has anyone else thought that we made it this far based on hard work and the guys we have? Do we need a MASSIVE upgrade on D, or do we need Seidenberg or someone of the like?

Robidas = reliable, cheap, experienced

YES! seriously if giving up a guy like foligno and SJS's 2nd and/or a prospect like o'brian for a guy like burns, we have to do it.
i'd love to see volchie resign but it isn't done yet and every day that goes by seems like a day we see him leave. this is the kind of move that makes pour team that much better and that much SAFER when injuries happen. i'd like to see campoli as a 7th D and not have to worry about brining up Lee.

He also has more hits than Volchenkov right now. Mind you, he'll certainly want at least the same kind of dough anyway so better to let Seidenberg walk and Volchenkov stay if that's the case.

I wouldn't take Burns due to his concussion history.

He's the Eric Lindros of defenceman, too risky.

That's what I meant, Seidenberg is a good player, but not the 'flashy' names that we've heard. Someone like that would probably cost a lot less and be pretty effective.

I'm not the brightest bulb so if I see value in this guy, I'm sure plenty of NHL GMs will put in some pretty substantial bids too.

Like what? I can't imagine a team will step up and offer a 2nd. I don't understand - GMs must be kinda dumb considering that he wasn't signed as a UFA until later in the season by Florida and now they stand to gain from it.

We'd have a legendary defense corps. Unfortunately, at some point it would be impossible to keep all of them paid accordingly.
