There was something extra motivating the Leafs to win that maybe was also a motivating factor in the Sens not playing their best. It will never be known for certain, but I think that played as much a part in last night's result as anything.

The whole team collectively laid an egg; adding Karlsson to the line up wouldn't have changed anything.

They stunk from top to bottom.

I can't even begin to explain how wrong you are. There isn't a player on the roster with half the offensive talent that he already has. He adds so much and it's so blatantly obvious that I'm astonished at how you could miss it. He was a gigantic part of the transition game that helped power us to 11 straight. He's got that Alfredsson quality of leading by example and his example makes the players around him better.

Wow, that was a very dramatic post. Let me get this straight; EK has more offensive talent then anyone else on the team?

Does that mean he will not have bad games from time to time?

Elliot was probably the biggest reason for the 11 game stretch and he played last night. Should the same logic not be applied? Even the player in which you use to describe EK played and they stunk.

EK has been awesome lately, key word being lately. I do beleive he will be a top tier d-man in the league, he is an incredible talent. I think as a team last night they were horrible and I don't think that adding EK into the line up would have changed it from a 5-0 Donkey whooping to a win.

With all that being said I think the removal of Picard from the line up would have increased our chances to win. Addition by subtraction.

EK would have certainly helped IMO. The transition game was awful, Kuba and Campoli were in our zone most of the game, and just one little spark from Karlsson, just one pass can change the dynamic of the game.

If you're going to suck, might as well have everyone suck on the same night.

Elliott will start Tuesday
.

Out of curiosity: is that a prediction, or confirmed?

I tend to agree, tho'. You just don't bench the guy for one bad game, after having had 9 stellar games beforehand.

Prediction that I would bet on. I fully agree with your assessment. Elliott wasn't good last night, but he kept the team in the game for the 2nd period. That 4th goal was a much harder save than a lot of people might think.

Elliott should start. That 2nd goal was the first weak goal he's let in in over a month. Guy needs a break on that one. Imagine what kind of message you'd be sending to him if you sat him against Calgary just because of the last game.

Elliott has to start, there should be no question about it.

wow I guess that was dramatic GAME DAY: Ottawa Senators @ Toronto Maple Leafs - 7:00pm ET - SAT. Feb 6, 2010 - Page 23 270956 I was thinking "defensive roster" when I wrote that. My bad GAME DAY: Ottawa Senators @ Toronto Maple Leafs - 7:00pm ET - SAT. Feb 6, 2010 - Page 23 85287 And no, like any player, he will be prone to a bad game here and there.

Picard and Campoli (last night, at least) are not impressive, thats for sure. I do believe that Karlsson's get up and go mentality and his poise with the puck would have helped the team do an in-game rebound. No one was moving their feet...you can always count on him to do that...

By the way, did anyone go to the skills competition? Was Karlsson in it he was announced on Team Black's roster on Friday.

Laughing3 Cheechoo won the accuracy challenge, going 4 for 5.

Fisher, hardest slapshot, 101.3 MPH.

Fisher and Michalek tied for relay.

Shannon, fastest skater. 13.something.

Kovalev, ridiculous shootout goal.

That was today? Ahhhhh! That is always a really fun family event to go to. Very affordable, always a riot! Like Ruutu's blonde wig Laughing3

No surprise with Fisher's hardest shot, but it is less than what he has done before (106?).

Cheechoo has no problem with hitting his target... as long as there's no goalie in front of him. Sarcasm

hope you had fun to all who went.

Cheechoo? Then he really has been aiming for the posts GAME DAY: Ottawa Senators @ Toronto Maple Leafs - 7:00pm ET - SAT. Feb 6, 2010 - Page 23 159628

Did Fisher actually take a slapshot this time or did he snap it again?

I don't know, I was going from what a friend told me. I think he slapped it and didn't get everything on it from what I understood.

Are we still dumping on Cheechoo? He was the best player on the ice vs. Toronto. Like I said, he will be an asset in the playoffs and other teams will come calling.

He stood on the bench in a black puffy winter coat.

I'll admit it. I took most of that from your thoughts during our 5 game losing streak.
